Looking for the best things to do in New York City this weekend? Here are some family-friendly events and activities to add to your list.

This weekend, the Thunderbird American Indian Mid-Summer Powwow celebrates indigenous creativity, Summer Streets rules in Queens and Staten Island, and sprinklers cool the Upper East Side at Sprinkler Day at Asphalt Green. Plus, kids can try their hands at swordplay at Fencing across America at Grand Central Station, the Public Theater is rocking a block party downtown on Sunday, and we have a special deal for you at American Dream!

Enjoy this last weekend of July, and as the temperature starts to creep back up in August, you can keep cool in town at the Top Splash Pads and Sprinkler Parks in NYC or plan a cooling dip out of town at the Best Swimming Lakes near NYC.
