Celebrate Mother's Day in style this year with an indulgent family brunch prepared by someone other than mom. Restaurants throughout Northern New Jersey are cooking up some fabulous luncheons full of breakfast delights, salads, carving stations, and desserts. Some of these eateries offer discounts for children, and others are FREE for young kids. Holiday brunches book up quickly though, and many require reservations.

Alstede Farms – Chester
Enjoy a farm-to-table brunch buffet with a side of springtime fun at Alstede Farms' weekend-long Mother’s Day celebration. Take a scenic wagon ride to Harvest Hall for delicious eats made with the farm's own fresh produce. The kids can burn some post-brunch energy at the farm’s moon bounce, train ride, pony rides, and corn kingdom for an additional fee.
Amanda's – Hoboken
A Hoboken staple for more than 25 years, Amanda's serves one of the best brunches in town. On Mother's Day, it will offer a three-course prix-fixe menu for both brunch and dinner.
Bibi’z Restaurant & Lounge – Westwood
This lively local favorite serves up a special Mother’s Day version of its popular brunch buffet. Load up on appetizers, salads, hot breakfast and lunch dishes, as well as carving and pasta station delicacies. It's hard to imagine room for dessert, but you won't want to pass up sweets like chocolate-dipped pretzels, flourless chocolate velvet fudge, and fresh berries.
Calandra's Mediterranean Grill – Fairfield
Featuring Calandra's famous rolls and a Viennese table loaded with their delicious pastries and goods, diet-sensitive eaters will also find gluten-free options at this Mother's Day brunch buffet. Salads, carving stations with ham, prime rib, turkey, and pasta entrees truly offer something for everyone. An ice cream bar provides a sweet finish to a delicious meal.
Grillestone – Scotch Plains
Grillestone's Mother’s Day brunch does not disappoint. Grab your complimentary mimosa and choose from meats like prime rib, roasted turkey, and ham at the carving station, or stop by the omelet or pasta station to have something made to order. Seafood delights include crab legs, peel-and-eat shrimp, and sushi, and of course there's plenty of traditional breakfast fare.
Ivy Inn – Hasbrouck Heights
If you’re looking to avoid the hustle and bustle of a buffet, bring the family to this historic inn for delicious brunch fare in a cozy, quiet atmosphere. The sit-down Mother’s Day brunch boasts a great selection of drinks and appetizers as well as entrees that include a bacon, cheddar, and tomato omelet; tri-color tortellini with vegetables in a light vodka sauce; and a traditional eggs benedict. A children’s menu offers scrambled eggs, chicken fingers, and sliders, topped off with ice cream sundaes.

Liberty House – Jersey City
The restaurant's Hudson River view isn't the only sight to behold. Madison Bar and Grill – Hoboken
The brunch at Madison includes a mimosa or bloody Mary, along with an array of oysters, chilled shrimp, eggs benedict, and a popular favorite: creme brulee French toast. A carving station featuring filet mignon, lamb, and ham, as well as breakfast burritos, bagels, and veggies round out the menu. Don't forget to save room for dessert, which includes strawberry shortcake, coconut custard pie, and key lime pie.

The Manor – West Orange
Enjoy a luxurious brunch at The Manor, where an extensive buffet is presented in an elegant atmosphere. Choose hot breakfast staples like French toast, waffles, croissants, sausage, and home fried potatoes, or create omelets and crepes to your liking at the omelet and crepe stations. Non-breakfast delights, such as chilled shrimp on oysters, leg of lamb, and a carving station, are also available. Children can add chicken fingers and fries to their meal. Juice, tea, and coffee are included.
McLoone's Boathouse – West Orange
Located within the South Mountain Recreation Complex, McLoone's Boathouse sits on the banks of the reservoir, offering Mother's Day brunch with a spectacular view. Sample shrimp, clams on the half-shell, and oysters at the raw bar, or get a slice of stuffed pork loin at the carving station. French toast, frittata, and home fries round out the hot buffet's wide assortment. Kids will love the chocolate fountain with plenty of fresh fruit for dipping.
The Olde Mill Inn & Grain House Restaurant – Morristown
The Mother's Day menu offers an extensive buffet featuring craft salads, tea sandwiches, a seafood bar, nearly two dozen hot entrees and sides, create-your-own crepes, and finally, a Venetian corner with homemade doughnuts. Reservations are required.
The Shannon Rose – Clifton
Think carving stations, made-to-order omelets, and Shepherd's Pie at this festive Irish pub's Mothers Day brunch buffet. A knee-high buffet allows kids to serve themselves macaroni & cheese, chicken fingers and cheeseburger sliders.
Snuffy’s Pantagis Renaissance – Scotch Plains
Snuffy’s is my family’s special-occasion brunch spot. This family-friendly catering hall boasts a buffet full of yummy brunch foods, with breakfast selections like eggs, pancakes, and bacon, and chaffing dishes with roasted duck, sausage, and seafood paella. Bring the meal to a sweet finish with a visit to the ample Viennese pastry table. Children 10 and under are half price.
Stage House Tavern – Somerset
You won’t go hungry at this fun pub, known for its large brunch portions. The Mother’s Day buffet features baked goods, salads, soups, an omelet station, carving station, and endless hot foods such as eggs, French toast, pancakes, pork loin, tilapia, chicken marsala, and much more. On a nice day, patrons can relax and dine outdoors on the patio.

Summit House – Summit
Indulge in a three-course prixe-fixe Mother's Day brunch that includes a welcome cocktail, monkey bread for the table, and a choice of avocado toast, shrimp & grits, or eggs benedict for your main meal. Dessert—a choice between assorted cookies, strawberry shortcake, or fresh berries and cream—is served family-style.
Winberie's – Summit
Housed in Summit's historic Opera House, Winberie's Mother's Day brunch buffet is a special treat. Peel-and-eat shrimp, white wine garlic mussels, and cedar plank salmon complement traditional brunch items such as scrambled eggs, sausage, and home fries. While kids make a beeline for the waffle and French toast station, with whipped cream and chocolate chips among other toppings, you can dip pound cake, marshmallows, and fresh fruit into the chocolate fondue fountain. Kids ages 3 and under eat for free!
