What's at the New Sesame Place San Diego?
Even bigger than Sesame Place in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, the new 17-acre park has 18 Sesame Street-themed rides, an interactive musical play area, and reimagined water attractions, including a 500,000-gallon wave pool – one of the largest in Southern California.
Families can flock to a photo-op with Big Bird and have meet-and-greets with other characters in the interactive Sesame Street neighborhood. There are live shows and award-winning parades throughout the day, in addition to loads of shops and restaurants.

Entering the park brings a splash of nostalgia for parents and a real thrill for kids, as the park entrance is a replica of the Sesame Street Neighborhood from the iconic TV show, complete with the 123 Stoop and Elmo’s bedroom window where kids can play, dance, and sing with their furry friends.
Each ride features a different character with names like Super Grover’s Box Car Derby, a family-friendly roller coaster; and Cookie Climb, where you can pull yourself to the top of Cookie Monster-themed towers.

Don’t forget the swimsuits! Sesame Place is another great destination for Southern California water park fans. Families can splash in heated pools and swoosh down water slides, plus ride an inner tube down Big Bird’s Rambling River and play in a pool surrounded by a sandy beach. There are other water play opportunities for little ones, too.
Sesame Place Is a Certified Autism Center
True to the PBS show’s reputation for inclusivity and education, Sesame Place is a designated Certified Autism Center by the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES), a global leader in online training and certification programs. This means that Sesame Place Team Members receive specialized training to ensure they have the requisite knowledge, skills, temperament, and expertise to cater to all children, including those with autism and special needs. The park has staff training that focuses on sensory awareness, motor skills, communication, and other important qualifications.
