Weekend Fun for LI Kids: Colors of Fall, Family Hour, November 7-8

With warm temperatures still hit or miss around Long Island, get outside and play before old man winter hits. Enjoy the Colors of Nature program at Sherwood Jayne Farm or Family Crew Hour at the Cold Spring Harbor Whaling Museum.

Several local productions are still on stage this weekend as well if you choose to stay indoors: Jungle Book in Smithtown, James and the Giant Peach in Northport and Sleeping Beauty in East Islip.

Colors Of NatureSetauket. At the Sherwood-Jayne Farm, join them for a walk as they learn how and why nature produces such a show and how different wildlife experience it. You’ll also experiment with dyes from natural materials.

Operation Candy Buy BackBellmore. At Silverman & Associates University Dental Family Dentistry, kids can sell their leftover Halloween candy.

Shinnecock Dancers Performance - Bridgehampton. At the Children's Museum of the East End, Matauqus Tarrant along with other members of the Shinnecock Nation will present an interactive demonstration for families with children of all ages. 

Family Crew HourCold Spring Harbor. At the Cold Spring Harbor Whaling Museum, self-serve crafts and activities for the entire family.

Fall Family FestivalGlen Cove. At Harbor Child Care, enjoy an afternoon of fun and free activities and learn about the newest center in Glen Cove

The Magic and Illusions of AlexoPort Jefferson. At the Performing Arts Studio of New York, enjoy magic, illusions and laughter.

Sunday, November 8

Fantasia - Huntington. Cinema Arts Centre invites children to this movie screening. Free.

Annual Kids Festival and Show - Bellmore. BJC Sings in Sillyville. This engaging musical, based on the 1989 production Wee Sing in Sillyville, includes many favorite kids songs and is sure to be a hit with both children and adults. Doors open at 12:45PM. Snacks, refreshments, face & hand painting, balloon animals, and meet the cast of BJC Sings in Sillyville.

Brett Band Family Concert - East Hills. At Sid Jacobson JCC, enjoy Brett’s original kids songs and some classics that will be sure to get the kids up dancing, clapping and singing along.

Sunday Seatuck Family Nature Club - Islip. These programs will be geared around the current season and include topics, such as seasonal birds, tremendous trees and signs of the season.

Spoons and Tunes - Long Beach. Music for Aardvarks will help with this program through Spoons and Tunes.

Sunday Kids Clubs at Hampton Kids - East Hampton. Weekends at Hampton Kids, they offer Kids Club every Sunday.
