Remember the life and legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. as the African American Museum of Philadelphia and Citizens Bank Foundation host a weekend of events that honor past and present equal rights movements. Family-friendly activities include art workshops, scavenger hunts, a children's book event, and youth service project. 

This year's theme is "Grassroots and Grand Strategies." The weekend includes in-person, virtual, and hybrid experiences. Admission is free but advance registration is required. Photo courtesy of AAMP taken prior to the pandemic.

6pm: Disruption Spotlight & Open Mic in-person

Saturday, January 15, 2021 

10am & 12pm: Children's art-making workshop (ages 6-13) and Scavenger Hunt

1:45pm: "In the Name of Emmett Till" Book Discussion 

3:30pm: “A King in the Wilderness” film screening

Sunday, January 16, 2021 

12pm:  Virtual Transcribe-a-thon Service Project

1:45 pm: "Art + Activism, Then and Now" Public Dialogue with Richard J. Watson and LaTreice Branson 

Monday, January 17, 2021 

10am: Youth Service Project lead by Dreamline Youth Mentors

12pm: African American Children's Book Project Presentation

1:45pm:  Grassroots and Grand Strategies Keynote by Dr. Kenneth Scott of Beech Companies 

3:30pm: MLK Memorial Concert 

All day: Voter Registration Drive
