Two in Tow: 5 Indoor Places to Take Baby & Toddler

The weather has turned chilly in the city, which means parents everywhere scramble to one of Boston's museums to entertain cooped up toddlers. But that's not always easy when you have an infant and a toddler; you want to get out of the house, but the idea of fighting the crowds is daunting.  Now that I officially have “two in tow” I’ve been searching for more creative (READ: easier) places to take them that don’t require 1) A lot of walking around, and 2) A huge parking lot.   

The combination of kids, winter, and the city sure is a tough one.  Getting out of the house is key, but it doesn't have to be an epic adventure.  Here are 5 places that are manageable to bring an immobile infant and a toddler with energy to burn.

Coco Baby, Little Loveage Club

Little Lovage Club, or "LLC", has classes for babies and toddlers to help them grow, learn, and love.  A personal favorite of mine - make sure to check out the adorable clothing and gift boutique upstairs and say hello to owner, Nicole Vale.  A mother of two herself, crying babies and energetic toddlers are certainly welcome here!

 

A Baby Wiggle Little Groove Class

Inside PlayGround is a personal favorite during cold months.  Toddlers have a plethora of toys and bouncy castles to pick from and stay occupied with, while baby naps in the infant carrier or sling.  Strollers are allowed in as long as they stay along the perimeter.  Boston locals, it's worth the trip.

Mama & Me is a mommy haven!  The drop-off program and creative play space is a great place for your older child to burn off energy while you get some bonding time with your infant at classes like Baby & Me Yoga, Blossom Baby, and First Connections.  Choose from a variety of activities for all three members of the brood. 

 

The Car Wash
I think I may have the cleanest car in Boston.  We go through the car wash A LOT.  My infant sleeps in the seat while my toddler delights in the "water show."  After the outside is clean, we head inside to watch the other cars go through.  Some Scrub A Dub stations let kids squirt cars with soap as they pass by (pictured). Believe me, you can turn this into an hour-long event.
