Central Avenue Yonkers
Central Avenue has everything you need for the family. Running from Yonkers to White Plains, anything your little one might desire, from video games to clothes, books, toys and furniture, can be found lining this main drag. A few highlights include Barnes & Noble for great books and educational toys, Kohl’s and Burlington Coat Factory for one-stop shopping from clothes and shoes to home goods, furniture and toys, and the newly expanded Carter’s and OshKosh store to outfit your kids at great prices.
Cross County Shopping Center
This outdoor shopping center has been a neighborhood staple for decades and has recently undergone beautiful renovations. In addition to the many big box stores including Old Navy, Gap Kids, GameStop, P.S. from Aeropostale and many more, Cross County Shopping Center goes above and beyond to make shopping fun for the entire family with events, concerts, crafts and more throughout the year. This year Cross County celebrates their 60th anniversary of shopping excellence in the heart of Yonkers with celebrations throughout the summer months including children’s activities such as face painting, crafts, balloons and more, food trucks and themed fashion shows that take you through past decades of style. Other events include annual fireworks, Summer Concert Fest, the Sidewalk Chalk Arts Festival and Friday Fundays for children 12 and under. For a full list of shops check out the mall’s directory.
Westchester’s Ridge Hill
Yonkers' newest premier shopping destination for both kids and adults is Westchester’s Ridge Hill, offering a mix of specialty boutiques in addition to national retailers such as L.L. Bean, H & M., Lord & Taylor’s, the Apple store and so many more. Like Cross County, Ridge Hill hosts many family-friendly events year round including festivals, a tree lighting and other seasonal events. Little ones can enjoy a romp in the outdoor playground or maybe even a trip to Legoland once Mom gets all her shopping done. Ridge Hill also offers exciting entertainment and events for the entire family such as Movie Mondays throughout the summer, Harvestfest celebrating fall, annual tree lighting festivities and so much more. Top off a long day of playing and shopping with a treat at Frannie’s Goodie Shop.
