Long Island Kids' Activities February 8 & 9: Valentine's Day Treats & Crafts

Love is (almost) in the air and that means kids can ready for Valentine's Day by baking some sweet treats and getting crafty this weekend! There are also several places you can enjoy a play or even check out the Winter Animal Show on the east end.

Remember that February is American Heart Month. Jump into action Sunday at the Long Island Children's Museum with a special event that's sure to get your heart pumping!

Sweets for Keeps Workshop - Oyster Bay. Using scrumptious looking art materials, become a master pastry chef for the day and create mini cakes and bon bons to take home in honor of Valentine's Day.

Build a Valentine Family Art Studio - Oyster Bay. Design one-of-a-kind valentine sculptures and projects with a buffet of creative materials. 1-hour sessions throughout the day. 

Chocolate Making Workshop - Yaphank. Enjoy a delicious time with family and mold your own chocolate treats. Learn fun facts, play games, and get ready to celebrate Valentine’s Day. 

Disney's Alladin - Lindenhurst. All your favorite characters are here in this adaptation of the Disney hit, including Aladdin, Jasmine, and the Genie.

Cinderella - Patchogue. Theatre Three kicks-off the New Year with its very own musical telling of the world’s favorite story.

Winter Animal Show - Bridgehampton. A winter puppet-visitor Snowy Owl and his friend, Tyler for a winter animal show. Will meet both live animals like turtles, toads and salamanders and model animals like owls. 

Embroidery Basics - Garden City. Learn the basics of embroidery from members of the Suffolk Chapter and the Long Island Chapter of the Embroiderer's Guild of America.

Family Sundays at the Museum - Roslyn. Family Sundays at the Museum offers a gallery tour followed by hands-on art making guided by an art educator for youngsters and the adults in their lives, and family-friendly gallery guides. 

How High? - Garden City. Decorate your own jump rope with bright and colorful streamers, and then show us how high you can jump!

The Stinky Cheese Man & Other Fairly Stupid Tales - Rockville Centre. Live performance about fairy tales.
