After another week of snow storms, frigid temps and hunkering down inside, your brood is probably itching to get out and about this weekend. We don't blame them, so we've rounded up some of the best events happening across Long Island. From Valentine's Day fun to live theater, the kids will have a great time with one of these activities from our calendar.

All Weekend

Children's Valentine's Day Planting - Westbury. Plant a small houseplant at Hicks Nurseries from 11am-4pm. Cost: Free.

Weekend Workshop: Valentine's Day Card- Sayville. Make a different Valentines' Day card art craft at Mini Monet. Cost: $15.

Little Bo Peep - Port Jefferson. At Theatre Three, this is a live performance. Through Feb. 21. Cost: $10/ticket.

The Snow Queen - Northport. Live performance at the Engeman Theatre. Runs every Saturday and Sunday through March 8. Cost: $15/ticket. 

Paint Party - Port Jefferson. Kids can be a material scientist for the weekend at The Maritime Explorium. Cost: $5/person.

Seal Cruise - Freeport. Hop aboard the Captain Lou in Freeport, hosted by the Riverhead Foundation to search for harbor seals and other mammal life. Monday, Jan. 19 too. Runs through April 12. Cost: $19-$26.

Messy Afternoons at LICM – Garden City. At the Long Island Children’s Museum, all weekend long. Cost: Free with museum admission.

Explorer Family Backpacks – Uniondale. Pick up a backpack and explore the world through this Hofstra University gallery. Cost: Free.

Saturday, February 7

Build a Valentine Family Art Studio - Oyster Bay. Make a little art with heart at Not Just Art. Cost: $16/first child, $12/siblings.

Frozen on the Red Carpet - Southampton. Meet Anna, Elsa and Olaf and journey with them to Arendelle for an afternoon of singing, dancing and wonder in the royal court. Cost: $75/child, $50/sibling (reservations required).

Dancing Dragons - Garden City. At Long Island Children's Museum, learn about Chinese New Year, participate in activites and create a craft. Cost: Free with museum admission.

The Fish Juggler - Water Mill. A whimsical show performed by the East End Special Players at Parrish Art Museum. Cost: Free.

Little Mermaid Jr. - Smithtown. Live performance through Feb. 20 at Smithtown Center for the Performing Arts. Cost: $15.

A Tree in Four Seasons - Bridgehampton. Arts and crafts fun at the South Fork Natural History Museum based on trees. Cost: $7/person + $4 materials fee.

Citarella Valentine's Cookie Decorating Workshop - East Hampton. Decorate heart-shaped cookies at Guild Hall. Cost: $8 (registration required).

Science Saturday at the Long Island Science Center – Riverhead. Enjoy a day at the Long Island Science Center. Cost: $5/person.

Sunday, February 8

Weekend Open Art Studio for Kids - East Hampton. Budding artists can work independently at Guild Hall on a variety of arts and crafts projects. Also on Sundays through Feb. 22. Cost: Free.

Where'd It Go? Animal Camouflage - Bridgehampton. Learn about how animals hide in nature and from prey at the South Fork Natural History Museum. Cost: $7/person.

Boy Scout Day at the Hatchery - Cold Spring Harbor. At the Cold Spring Harbor Fish Hatchery & Aquarium, boy scouts wearing their uniform will receive a free tour at 2pm (with paid admission). Cost: $4/kids, $6/adults.

Tooth Fairy Visits the Whaling Museum - Cold Spring Harbor. Explore the amazing world of teeth. Touch whale teeth, go on a hunt for shark teeth and see a whale tooth cavity up close. Cost: $8/child.

Aladdin - Elmont. Live performance at BroadHollow Theatre. Cost: $10/advance, $12/at the door.

The Paper Bag Players 'Hot Feet' - Port Washington. At the Landmark on Main Street, these guys are all wrapped up in raucous song. The Paper Bag Players new show, Hot Feet will have the crowd singing, dancing and laughing. Cost: $18/ticket.

Spoons and Tunes - Long Beach. S'mores, French Toast, Fruitty Pebbles and music and movement with Moosiki and My Beach Baby. Cost: $15/child when registering ahead, $20/at the door.

Seatuck Family Nature Club - Islip. These programs will be geared around the current season and include topics such as seasonal birds, tremendous trees and signs of the season. Cost: Free.

Family Sundays at the Museum - Roslyn. Each Sunday Nassau County Museum of Art offers a 1pm docent-led family walk-through of the exhibition and supervised art activities for the whole family beginning at 1:30pm. Cost: Free with museum admission.

Lego Club - Bridgehampton. Enjoy two hours of Lego fun every Sunday at the Children's Museum of the East End. Cost: $10/admission.

Sunday Kids Club - East Hampton. Drop off kids for a 9am-12pm kids camp at Hampton Kids. Cost: $30-40.
