Mega-Sized Indoor Action Park Slick City Now Open at Katy Mills Mall
Slick City, which is billed as the world’s largest indoor waterless slide park, has opened a new location in the Houston area–and there's a good chance your family is going to have a blast at the Katy Mills Mall action park.
The unique theme park is just the third Slick City location nationwide, and it's designed for all ages. The Katy location features 66,000 square feet of indoor sliding experiences, go-karts, and a sports court park.
We were invited to check it out, and my oldest child called it “the most fun we’ve ever had,” so, needless to say, it was a big hit with the kids. As a bonus, the adults had a lot of fun, too!
Read on to get the scoop on this awesome new experience, and find more fun places to play indoors on our list of the Top Indoor Play Spaces in Houston.

Slick City Katy Action Park: Everything You Need to Know
What to expect at Slick City Katy
Slick City Katy is located inside the Katy Mills Mall, and when you enter you'll notice how big it is. There's an entire section of very large slides, a play area for kids 3 and under, go-karts, multi-sport air courts, and a party area.
The kids were most interested in sliding, so we headed to that section first. Slides are for ages 4 and up and are designed like water park slides, just without the water. There are 11 slides to choose from, and all require you to lay belly down on the mat so you slide smoothly down the course. There were all different types of slides–steep, hilly, ones with drops, enclosed ones, and some that even sent you airborn onto fluffy catch mats.
We “tested” every single slide, and all were kid-approved! My kids are all daredevils, so they loved the thrill of the slides, but truth be told I was having just as much fun as my kids.
Slick City Katy: Beyond the Slides
Even though it was hard to drag everyone away from the slides, we checked out the rest of the attractions Slick City had to offer. The motor car go-karts were fun, but smaller and limited to ages 6-12. The multi-sport air court is for all ages, and we spent a lot of time shooting hoops on the bouncy, aired-up court.
There is also a play area for the younger crowd under 45 inches tall called Junior Jungle. It’s a climbing play structure that also has its own set of smaller slides.
Slick City Katy is a fantastic addition to the Houston area, especially as an option for when the weather is less than desirable. If you take the kids, slide with them! You won’t regret acting like a kid again. If you want to try before you buy, take a look at a short vid we made to get a sense of the place!
