WILDLIFE BABY SHOWER
Sweetbriar Nature Center
62 Eckernkamp Drive, Smithtown
(631)979-6344
1:00 – 3:30 p.m.
For all ages.
Fee: members, $5/person; non-members, $6.
Celebrate wildlife babies and support Sweetbriar as it gears up for the Spring and Summer season, when we care for many orphaned and injured animals. Meet animals and see how a baby squirrel and baby bird are cared for. Take a nature walk to find signs of animal homes where baby animals are being raised and make a fun craft.
While we may not be experiencing typical May weather, we can still make the most of it this weekend with various family-friendly events. There is a cartooning workshop for those budding cartoonists taking place at the Main Street Petite Gallery. At the Long Island Science Center, children can climb inside a giant bird house. If the weather improves, then there are also outdoor events scheduled such as the Mozart Festival at Old Westbury Gardens.
