Free Tennis Lessons Here's a win/win. BumbleBee Tennis is providing free tennis lessons in exchange for non-perishable food donations to City Harvest (something you may have wanted to do anyway) as part of their Harvest Hit-Off Food Drive. 50% off NYC online shop for NYC apparel and gear today online from 9am-4pm. If you've ever wanted a FDNY onesie or a DOT dump truck t-shirt now's your chance. The prices are very reasonable. Dig around the site to find cool stuff.
NYC Bloggers Do the Holidays I want to alert you in advance to something a little bit different that we are doing tomorrow. Mommy Poppins has teamed up with a dozen of our favorite other NYC-centric blogs to create a special, unique Holiday Guide. Each of these sites has written a post and in our post tomorrow you will find the links to all of them. Read each one and follow it to the next one for what I expect to be a very cool collection with great perspectives on the Holidays in NYC from some very cool bloggers. I can't wait.
Passports with Purpose Another cool group blog project we are participating in is Passports with Purpose, a giant group giveaway with the goal of raising money to build a school in rural Cambodia. Look for our giveaway post today for more information about Passports with Purpose.
Mommy Poppins in Time Out One more place you'll see Mommy Poppins right now is in Time Out NY Kids. That's right, my family and Mommy Poppins are featured in their family profile. Check it out while you're in line at the grocery store or see it here.
About the Author
Founder of Mommy Poppins
A fourth-generation Brooklynite, Anna started Mommy Poppins in 2007 to help families find the best things to do with kids in NYC, with a particular emphasis on sharing activities that are free, affordable, and enriching. The site, used by millions of families, has grown to become the ultimate resource for parents in the major US cities, plus travel guides for 100s of destinations.
Anna is a believer in the magic of summer camps, traveling with kids, and that you can raise kids on a budget and still have a rich life full of amazing memories. Anna's first Mommy Poppins book, The Young Traveler's Journal and Activity Book, published in 2025 and co-written with her daughter, Amelia Eigerman, brings that ethos to life, in addition to this website.
