No one grooves on the magic of a hotel stay more than kids. The swimming-pool smell, the room-service abandon, and the I-must-have-done-something-right feeling sparks through them the minute the swoosh open the lobby doors.

With that in mind, we've put together our list of the best kid-friendly hotels in Nassau and Suffolk, and even added a few on the East End. So whether you’re frequenting local attractions or hosting out-of-town guests, these destinations are sure to delight teeny travelers and discerning grown-ups alike. Happy travels.

Allegria Hotel — Long Beach
For an unforgettable seaside stay, check out Long Beach’s new Allegria Hotel, a pristine nautical resort featuring rooms with full and partial ocean views, limestone bathrooms, and a rooftop pool with panoramic views that is heated to a balmy 75 degrees. Guests in the summer are greeted with free beach passes, as well as complimentary towels and beach chairs to enjoy the FREE Long Beach Concert Series in the evenings. The hotel is adjacent to the Long Beach boardwalk, where food trucks, craft fairs, and even a trapeze are accessible in the warmer months. Bikes, surfboards, and kayaks can be rented on the shore. Breakfast is included in the room price during the offseason, when visitors can avail themselves of ice skating and a winter recreation center. The hotel is a short junket from the Jones Beach theater, Belmont Race Track, and Nassau Coliseum. Take advantage of the 15 percent discount for AAA members, and 10 percent savings for families living in New York State.
