NY Hall of Science Winter Vacation Camps

Winter vacation camps are a great help to working or any parents who need coverage for their kids during school breaks, but they can also be a great experience for kids who want to try out something different from their usual activities or focus on one activity for a week-long intensive.
Over the next few days we're going to be serving up some fun winter vacation camp ideas to save you from cries of "I'm bored!" We're starting with a great deal from the NY Hall of Science, with over a 35% discount on the normal fee! Spaces are available, but you have to register by Monday and tell them you want the Mommy Poppins discount:

NY Hall of Science Innovation Camps
Feb 19 - 22 / 9am-noon, Fee: $200 $125- Grades 1-4
For grades 1 & 2 - Science Makes Art - Science Puppets: Where do polar bears live? How about seals and penguins? Identify and explore the habitats and biomes of your favorite animals and create "Biome" puppets to investigate the relationships between animals from similar habitats.
For grades 3 & 4 Science Makes Art: Seeing the Light Shrink: Plastic into creative art sculptures, use scotch tape and polarized lenses to create a rainbow, and make your own stained glass out of glue and paint. Students create works of art that show off the science of color and their artistic "genius."
