1. Put some acrylic or tempera paint in a dish. You can use one color or as many as you like. Cut one length of string, about twice as long as your paper, for each color. Lay each piece of the string in a paint dish and make sure it gets well covered.

2. Fold your paper in half and open it up again. Then take your strings out of the paint and place them on one side of the paper so that their ends are off the side.

3. Fold the paper back over and gently smooth it out with your hands.  Then, keeping pressure on the top with one hand, grab all the strings with the other and pull them out. Open up the paper to reveal your unique masterpiece!

There are a ton of ways to customize this super simple project. You could paint or collage your paper first, do one color at a time in different patterns, or experiment with dragging the string ends across the paper to get different effects. The final effect is kind of like a Rorschach. Do you see a picture in your image? We think the picture above kind of looks like a woman. We saw a dog in one of ours and took a sharpie to turn the print into a dog picture.
