Holiday Break Fun – Garden City. Stop by Chocolate Works Garden City to make snowy friends, flakes and other winter treats without freezing your fingers or toes. Then dip a snowball (aka marshmallow!) into their warm chocolate fountain.

Celebrating Mankind's First Flight in a Hot Air Balloon – Garden City. At the Cradle of Aviation Museum, create and decorate your very own 3D spinning hot air balloon complete with balloon basket while learning about the many types of early flying machines.

Holiday Lights Spectacular –Wantagh. At Jones Beach, this drive-through holiday light show features more than 150 displays, hot beverages, snacks and make your own s’mores. Multiple dates; check for closed dates in the event description.

Boardwalk Lights – Long Beach. Walk along the Long Beach Boardwalk after sunset and look up at the holiday lights display. Free.

Bayville Winter Wonderland – Bayville. At Bayville Adventure Park, this ongoing event includes ice skating, holiday light show, train ride, rock climbing, character meet and greet, holiday arts and crafts and more. Except for some closed days, this event runs through Jan. 2.

The Little Mermaid – Smithtown. Live performance at the Smithtown Center for the Performing Arts.

Mrs. Claus Saves The Day – East Islip. Live performance at the BayWay Arts Center.

Family Beach Walk - Hampton Bays. Due to the effects of the tides through the Shinnecock Inlet, the Hampton Bays’ beaches seem to have a higher concentration of shells on both the bay and ocean sides. Join Crystal on a family-friendly walk to identify the different mussels, clams, arks, and snail shells that wash ashore, including the occasional animal bone, egg case, or unusual seaweed. Bring binoculars.

Brick Building Club – Amityville. Join Key to My Art each Saturday for a new Lego-theme building class.

Tanglewood Marionettes – Sag Harbor. Puppet show at Goat on a Boat at Bay Street Theater.
