What ages is Splash Zone Waterpark best for?
Splash Zone is best for families with kids ages 12 years and younger–with high-speed rides and towering slides for older kids and smaller splash areas and sprinklers for the youngest visitors. There is no deep water and spaces are wide open making it easy to keep an eye on your crew.
Does Splash Zone have height restrictions?
Some of the more thrilling slides have a 42" minimum height requirement and FlowRider requires a waiver, but there are plenty of attractions without restrictions. Kids under 36” are required to wear life vests in the park, which are available at no charge.
You can look online or check the signage at Splash Zone for specific requirements for each attraction.
What are the best attractions for older kids, tweens, and teens at Splash Zone?
When it comes to big kids and teens (and even adults), FlowRider is a must. The 40-foot continuous wave is the only surf simulator on the boardwalk, inviting adventure-seekers to try their hand at bodyboarding or stand-up surfing. The Beast of the East is another fan favorite, taking riders on a splash-filled 5-person white water raft ride.
What can babies, toddlers, and little kids do at Splash Zone Waterpark?
Zoe Zone is the perfect first stop for the Park’s younger visitors. The shallow play area features gentle geysers and soft play equipment. Meanwhile, Slippery Chutes gives little ones a chance to try their first water slide and Dino Dig–the park’s newest attraction–invites kids to dig for replica dinosaur bones, fossils, ancient jewels and golden eggs. Crack one of those eggs open and win a prize!
What are the best areas for the whole family to enjoy at Splash Zone?
Hurricane Island is a shallow water play area with a massive play structure featuring bridges, ropes, fountains, three multi-level slides, and The Giant Bucket–a real crowd pleaser that soaks the crowd with 1,000 gallons of water. When you need a break, a family tube ride down Rivy’s lazy river is the way to go.

What’s the new attraction at Splash Zone for 2025?
Dino Dig is an interactive excavation zone where kids can unearth replica dinosaur fossils, collect ancient jewels, and uncover special prizes hidden in the sand. They can even take home some of the treasures they discover! This one’s best for ages 3-12, but all kids are welcome.
Do I need to pay extra for Dino Dig?
Nope! Admission to Dino Dig is included with your ticket to the park. Does the park get crowded? When’s the best time to visit? The park is typically busiest midday. Try arriving right at opening–usually 10:00am–for cooler temps, shorter lines, and a better shot at snagging a lounge chair.
Can we bring our own food to Splash Zone?
While outside food isn’t permitted, there’s a convenient snack bar right on site, The Zone Grill, with the usual kid-approved fare—think chicken fingers, fries, pizza, and popsicles. Browse the full menu here.
Note that FlowBar serves up cold beers and cocktails for parents, plus ice cream drinks and fresh fruit mocktails for kids!
What should we bring to Splash Zone?
Swimsuits, towels, flip-flops or water shoes, and sunscreen are absolute musts. If you have a waterproof phone case, it’ll go a long way–especially if you plan to snap photos!
Lockers are available for rent so, while you might consider leaving whatever valuables you can at home, you can still safely store the rest of belongings.
Are there changing rooms or showers?
Yes! There are clean restrooms with changing areas and showers, so you can get everyone dry and dressed before heading out.
Is there shade? Where can families take a break from the action?
There are a few shaded areas and lots of lounge chairs, but they do go fast. If you’re looking for a guaranteed shady retreat, consider renting umbrella seats, a hut, or a private cabana for the day. It’s an extra splurge but comes with shade, seats, and even wait service.
How long should we expect to spend at Splash Zone Waterpark?
For most families, 3-4 hours is the sweet spot, especially if you have young kids or are planning to hit the other boardwalk attractions. But if your crew is full of water-lovers, you could easily spend the whole day at the park.
