School's out for the summer, and Mommy Poppins has you covered! This weekend features a robust lineup of fabulous performances, eclectic festivals and more great fun for Westchester families. The fire-eating and sword-fighting antics at A Night on Fire are sure to dazzle, and who doesn’t love the Big Apple Circus? Outdoor festivals this weekend include Sidewalk Chalk Art, American Roots Music and Irish Heritage.

A Night on Fire - Sleepy Hollow
Marvel at the choreographed fire-juggling, fire-eating, sword fighting talents and comedic antics of the group A Different Spin. Friday through Sunday

Fireman's Carnival - Mamaroneck
The Fireman's Carnival, a beloved annual event, kicks off in Mamaroneck's picturesque Harbor Island Park. Enjoy classic carnival rides, games, food and fun. Admission is FREE. Friday through Sunday and beyond.

Butterfly and Caterpillar Weekend - Cornwall

The circus is coming to town! Marvel at the extreme talents of these circus artists as they perform their jaw-dropping feats and humorous fun.

Sidewalk Chalk Art Festival - Yonkers
Calling all artists! Participate or simply watch professional and amateur artists create works of art throughout Cross County Shopping Center. Kids can head to Kid's Zone for age-appropriate activities. FREE for spectators

American Roots Music Festival - Katonah
Whether you go the traditional route of assigned seats under the big tent or opt to simply hear the concert while enjoying a picnic on the grounds, you can’t go wrong with this day- and evening-long lineup of quality performances, along with the added allure of kids’ activities, food for purchase and a beautiful setting.

The Gold Rush - Pleasantville
In conjunction with the ongoing GOLD exhibition at the Neuberger Museum of Art is a screening of Charlie Chaplin's best-known “Little Tramp” silent film. Still a classic, this newly restored print includes Chaplin’s original music. There’s also a treasure contest for the audience—so maybe you’ll strike gold!

This museum event centers around the theme of envy, with performances, tours and a variety of hands-on family activities. FREE

African American Heritage Celebration - Valhalla

Irish Heritage Celebration - Hartsdale
This festival highlights Irish culture with music, food, vendors and activities. Bring a blanket or chairs. FREE admission.

Beyond Westchester

There are two fun reasons to head to Brooklyn this weekend!

There'll be no lack of puppetry at the annual Puppetry Arts Festival of Brooklyn benefit, where you'll be entertained by puppeteers from both near and far using all kinds of puppets and marionettes. Other highlights include puppet crafts, t-shirt making, a giant T-Rex, and more. Admission is FREE; activity fees vary.

You might also take in an outdoor performance at SummerStage Family Day: Magmanus, featuring a Swedish circus company featuring acrobatics, juggling and silly fun.
