Long Island Kids' Activities June 7, 8: Strawberry Fair, Live Theater, Family Sundays at the Museum & More
There are tons of options for some quality family time this weekend! Benner's Farm in St. James is hosting their annual Strawberry Fair on Saturday, with succulent strawberry dishes and good old fashioned games. Or you can head indoors to see a show in Northport (Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day) or at the Long Island Children's Museum in Garden City (Go, Dog, Go).
For those looking to get in touch with their inner Picasso, there is Family Sundays at the Nassau County Museum of Art in Roslyn. The Museum hosts a walk-through exhibition and hands-on activities for the whole gang. The weather is supposed to be beautiful this weekend, so you can also just enjoy taking a stroll around the grounds.

Strawberry Fair - St. James. Visitors to Benner's Farm can get strawberries at this annual fair. Events and offerings will also include old fashioned baseball, sack races, spoon races, bubble gum blowing contests, wheelbarrow and balloon races, a cracker whistle contest and funny face competitions.
Lodo's Salamander Story & Craft - Bridgehampton. At the South Fork Natural History Museum Nature Center, discover what is life like as a salamander? What do they eat? Where do they live? Join Crystal and her storytime puppet, Lodo the River Otter, as they read A Salamander’s Life by John Himmelman. After the story kids will get to meet the museum's resident salamanders, who spend most of their time hiding in the dirt, then make a salamander craft to take home.
Science Saturdays - Riverhead. Fishing Frenzy at the Long Island Science Center. The first week of June is Fishing Week. Learn about the local fish of the Peconic Estuary and what the Fisherman are reeling in this season.
Train a Seal, Kiss a Lion - Riverhead. Go behind the scenes with the Marine Mammal staff at the Long Island Aquarium to train a seal or kiss a sea lion.
Celebrate Farm Days - Riverhead. Meet and learn about calves, llamas, baby goats, labs, piglets, chick and ducks at the Talmage Farm Agway. There will be a petting zoo and pony rides. Free.
Farm Tour - Riverhead. The kids will love to tour the family-friendly Garden of Eve. Visitors will be able to learn about the various species that are part of the farm's agri-ecosystem. The farm will be open for tours from 11am to 1pm. Free.
Molly Shannon's Tilly the Trickster - Oakdale. Live performance.
Main Street Spring Fair - Farmingdale. Hosted by the Farmingdale Fire Department, this fair is held along Main Street and incudes food, games, rides, vendors, etc.
Mommy/Daddy Me Anti-Gravity Yoga - Bellmore. Have your little one explore the Anti-Gravity hammocks while building basic motor skills. All kids AGY classes are structured to introduce basic life skills and build confidence in a light-hearted way while having fun.
Mother/Daughter Yoga - Port Washington. Join Yoga instructor and author Rochelle Katzman as she creates a warm, fun, bonding experience during her mother and daughter workshop. Ages 5-11.
Sid Jacobson 5k Run/Walk and Children's Fun Run - East Hills. Free children's run starts at 9 a.m.
Family Sundays at the Nassau County Museum of Art - Roslyn. Each Sunday, Nassau County Museum of Art offers a 1pm docent-led family walk-through of the exhibition and supervised art activities for the whole family beginning at 1:30pm. Special family-friendly gallery guides of the main exhibition are available in the galleries.
Lego Club - Bridgehampton. Play with Legos in the entryway of the Children's Museum of the East End.
