11/18/14 - By Jennifer Cook Nice

Furniture shopping for little ones changes as quickly as they do: one day it concerns cribs and changing tables, and the next moment it’s bunk beds and desks for homework. And while some kids' items are so fleeting that we don't want to spend much on them (thank goodness for the Toy District!), there are always a couple of furniture pieces that we really want to get right. Looking for the perfect crib, a bed to make the room, or a desk to inspire ultimate focus? Below we offer a list of creative suggestions to shop for kids' furniture in Los Angeles. From stylish to efficient, there’s a furniture store in the vast city of Los Angeles to meet everyone's needs.

Jonathan Adler has a loveably unique and contemporary collection. A twin bed can cost up to $3000, and a six drawer dresser, $3800. There are smaller pieces, such as stylish end tables and benches, with lower price tags.

Los Angeles, CA 90034
(310) 559-5142

La Bella Cosa is an impressive shop with thoughtfully crafted, one-of-a-kind furniture and a few other lovely kids' items. It’s not the sort of place to bargain hunt, but rather to become inspired. One thing to look out for on a visit La Bella Cosa is the wonderful artwork for kids’ rooms.

The Sofa Club

Children’s furniture at this store is mostly made by Coaster, but the store does advertise customizable furniture from traditional to modern in a variety of colors - and down to the exact measurements you require. The Sofa Club is owned and operated by a husband and wife team with great customer service reviews.

Kids Furniture Superstore
2751 Colorado Blvd.
Los Angeles, CA 90041

This superstore offers items for little one from newborn to teen, and the prices work with a variety of budgets. Because it’s a superstore, it carries a wide array of furniture from kids' table and chair sets to bunks and daybeds. The store sometimes has 70% off sales and offers coupons.  This is a great place to get decorating ideas stirring, but word is that it's best to order furniture with plenty of time to spare.

Kids Only Furniture & Accessories
1801 W Verdugo Ave.
Burbank, CA 91506
(818) 841-5544

This popular Burbank store has a large showroom and frequent clearance sales. Kids Only Furniture and Accessories has much from which to choose, as well as eco-friendly mattress options. It’s worth a visit, even if just to get inspired.

Kids Cottage Furniture
14444 Ventura Blvd.
Los Angeles, CA 91423
(818) 783-3055

What I find pleasing about this store is that the furniture is custom made in Los Angeles. On the other hand, this means that you need to order what you want with plenty of notice. If you have the time, though, this store is worth a look. I love the bunk bed design with the steps that double as drawers. There’s an abundance of finishes to fit all types of color needs.

Juvenile Shop
13356 Ventura Blvd.
Sherman Oaks, CA 91423
(818) 986-6214

This is an impressively complete store for kids' accessories, open since 1938. You'll find variety of brands, and therefore a variety of prices. I was impressed by the paint and stain selection, as well as eco friendly goods such as organic mattress pads. I would consider Juvenile Shop for my next baby gift before shopping at the bigger, more corporate stores.

If you’d like try consignment stores for that unique and eco-friendly purchase, here are a few more suggestions:

The Things and Stuff
This store has no physical location; The Things and Stuff does thrift shopping for you. You can shop for and purchase items online or pay cash upon delivery. The store offers free delivery within a 15 mile radius of Staples Center downtown. It’s a little like purchasing something off of Craigslist, only, for a fee; The Things and Stuff does the leg work for the customer.

45 Three Modern Vintage Home
1051 1/2 S. Fairfax Ave.
Los Angeles, CA 90019
(323) 932-0832

The 45 Three motto is Secret Treasure from Hidden Places. I like it. You won’t find a variety of cribs here, but maybe a colorful vintage chair, a rare lighting piece, or a piece of unique artwork to add a pop of color to your child’s room.

Rehab Vintage Interiors
4619 W. Pico Blvd.
Los Angeles, CA 90019

This store has some cool finds that could work well as extra storage for a child’s bedroom. The physical store only shows a portion of what the storeroom contains. When visiting Rehab Vintage Interiors, I was most impressed by the re-purposed lockers and retro desks and cabinets.
