The Park at UBS Arena Brings Ice Skating Rinks, Winter Fun to Belmont Park
Winter sports fans take note: A brand-new ice skating rink complex debuted outside UBS Arena in late December 2023. The Park at UBS Arena is a new wintertime destination for hockey enthusiasts, show-goers, and local families alike.
The Park at UBS Arena, a partnership between the arena, the New York Islanders, and Northwell Health, is located adjacent to the historic and entertaining Belmont Park and aims to take advantage of this unique setting to create something special for visitors of all ages.

The Park at UBS Arena boasts a 156,000-square-foot outdoor play area with two pond hockey ice skating rinks, Northwell Pond and UBS Pond. Together these ice skating rinks provide opportunities for competitive tournaments and developmental programs.
Northwell Pond features a traditional natural ice skating rink, which is hosting a series of pond hockey tournaments, catering to youth and adults. UBS Pond is synthetic ice, and its programming focuses on community engagement through Learn to Play and Try Hockey for Free programs catering to kids ages 4-9. The Learn to Skate program is a multi-week program that teaches children ages 4-10 the fundamentals of ice skating.
Public ice skating sessions—starting at $20—are offered on both ice skating rinks. Discounted tickets are available for first responders and military personnel, as well as Islanders season-ticket holders. Ice skate and helmet rentals add another $10 to your reservation. Pay online in advance or in person.
The rinks are also available to rent for special occasions.
Public skating is available for 90-minute sessions preceding events at UBS Arena, plus evenings on non-game days and Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Note that guests have to purchase a parking ticket and are encouraged to do so in advance.

More Fun Activities at The Park at UBS Arena
In addition to the two outdoor rinks, The Park at UBS Arena offers guests a wide range of activities to entertain the family or enjoy with friends, including a BYOB Beer Garden adorned with twinkly lights, fire pits, and lawn games like cornhole. We tried the basketball and knock the clown down carnival games and even won some Islanders merchandise as a prize. Visitors can also shop at the Isles Lab Swag Shack to gear up before game time. For an elevated experience, AmEx cardholders can book an igloo in the VIP Igloo Garden. A slate of rotating food trucks—like The Big Cheese, which we tried—offer guests a diverse culinary experience at fan-friendly prices.
On game days, enjoy live pregame show broadcasts and watch parties aimed at making The Park at UBS Arena a gathering place for the Islanders community.
