Whether you're in the mood for out-of-this-world soft-serve or craving a fully loaded hot dog, we've rounded up 20 local restaurants in South Jersey and along the Jersey Shore that are ready to fulfill your craving. Best Stops for Ice Cream and Frozen Treats

Hobby Horse Ice Cream Parlor – Ocean City

Housed in a charming white house on a corner lot, Hobby Horse Ice Cream Parlor offers hand-dipped ice cream daily in more than 40 flavors. Plus, water ice, soft-serve, and sorbet are also on the menu. Make sure to pose with the carousel horse out front once you've got your cone!

The Ice Cream Parlour – Cherry Hill

Located off Haddonfield-Berlin Road, this family-friendly venue has ice cream, water ice, milkshakes, and gelato. The carnival-themed decor makes it a fun stop for younger children.

White Dotte – Southampton

On the corner of Routes 38 and 206, you'll find this iconic, '50s-themed stand, which has some amazing soft-serve. The ice cream is often homemade, with a base of in-season fruit. Light bites are also served, and visitors can enjoy their meal inside or out.

Mr. Bill Richman’s Ice Cream and Burgers – Voorhees

Located off Route 73, Mr. Bill's is a well-loved stop on the way to the Shore. It offers the best of both worlds, with sweet treats and light bites in a friendly atmosphere, plus plenty of outdoor seating and a fun roadside photo op with the giant steel Mr. Bill standing out front.

Evergreen Dairy Bar serves plenty of summer treats
Evergreen Dairy Bar is a mainstay on Route 70, well-loved for its soft-serve treats and special events.

Evergreen Dairy Bar – Southampton

This soft-serve ice cream landmark is located off of Route 70. In addition to swirling all the classic soft-serve flavors, Evergreen Dairy Bar also serves milkshakes, ice cream sundaes, and other frozen delights. Keep your eye on its Facebook page for special events. This location often hosts classic car shows, trunk-or-treating in October, and other fun, family-style gatherings.

Gelato Dolceria – Haddonfield

Located off Kings Highway East, this family-owned Italian dessert shop serves a variety of fresh gelato flavors, Italian pastries, and espresso. If you're in Collingswood, you can visit the second location of this tasty treat spot.

Ice-Cream Shop of Manahawkin – LBI

This beachside shop offers a cozy atmosphere to cool down with some great homemade flavors. Visit its Facebook page to see what is scooping on any given day. Expect a mix of classics and seasonal flavors.

Cherry’s Ice Cream and Water Ice – Cherry Hill

Located off Church Road, Cherry's Ice Cream and Water Ice is a local favorite, thanks to its jam-packed menu, outdoor seating, and very friendly staff. Its stocked bakery case utilizes locally grown produce.

Sundaze – Ventnor City

Grab your choice of frozen treats at this local favorite—ice cream, fro-yo, water ice; Sundaze has it all. Flavor choices are seemingly endless, and we love its toppings—particularly the homemade whipped cream! Enjoy your treat in the ample sidewalk seating until 1am.

Sundaes by the OCean – Ocean City

Located off 8th Street, this frozen yogurt shop has toppings aplenty, letting you customize and perfect your fro-yo sundae.

Best Hot Dogs and Quick Bites

Margate Dairy Bar & Burger – Margate City

Enjoy a classic '50s-style retro decor and design at Margate Dairy Bar & Burger, along with a selection of frozen treats and diner eats. Visitors can dine in, eat outdoors, or order online for delivery or take-out from this family-friendly eatery.

Bill’s Gyro Souvlaki – Atlantic City

A convenient boardwalk eatery, Billy Gyro Souvlaki, offers a tasty, quick lunch to visitors cruising the boards. The menu has a huge variety of classic Greek eats.

The Original Hot Dog Factory – Voorhees

This chain has multiple locations in the area, and the menu has a large variety of hot dogs—including vegetarian options—plus burgers and chicken.

Lou Dogs – Sea Isle City

Go check out the self-proclaimed “Best Buns at the Beach” at Lou Dogs. Here you'll find hot dogs with all the fixings. Its indoor shop still features the original hot dog cart that launched the business in the '80s.

Hot Diggidy Dog – Chatsworth

This roadside hot dog stand is a personal favorite stop of my family's when traveling to and from the Shore. With outdoor-only seating, opening times can be weather-dependent, but it's good about posting hours updates on Facebook. This stand features a variety of hot dogs, kielbasa, and sausages. Chips, ice cream bars, and soft drinks are also available.

Hot Dog Tommy’s – Cape May

Located in downtown Cape May, enjoy hot dogs here with a variety of toppings. Vegan options are available. But, beware: Hot Dog Tommy's is take-out only.

Grab A Wiener – Wildwood

Located on the Wildwood boardwalk, this unassuming hot dog stand offers many toppings and delicious loaded fries.

Dicky’s Dogs – Toms River

Located off Atlantic City Boulevard, this delicious hot dog shop features classic hot dogs, sausages, tacos, and more. Dine-in, take-out, and delivery are available.

Boardwalk Hot Dogs and Cafe – Brick Township

This restaurant is home to the Shickhaus Footlong Griddle Frank and several other boardwalk favorites. Dine-in, take-out, and delivery are available.

Bubba Dogs – Sea Isle City

This hot dog cart is a favorite neighborhood stop that offers hot dogs, grilled sausages, bratwurst, and more. It also offers catering services and promise to "bring the Bubba beach vibe to you."
