Like most toddlers, my two-year-old constantly commands Alexa to “play Baby Shark,” and has her “doo doo doo doo doo doos” down. Needless to say, we couldn’t wait to head to SeaWorld San Diego to check out the two brand new attractions now open: the limited time Baby Shark Mini Live Show and Jewels of the Sea, the immersive Jellyfish Experience!

After an action-packed day exploring the park’s latest additions, plus a few fan favorites, my four kids–ages 9, 6, 4, and 2–confidently declared our visit “one of the best days ever!” So, read on for my rundown on what to expect at the new exhibitions, and take a look at my personal tips for navigating SeaWorld San Diego with kids.

The new Baby Shark show was a big hit with my superfans.

New Baby Shark Show and Character Meet-and-Greets

In celebration of Baby Shark’s 10th anniversary, SeaWorld visitors can now catch Baby Shark and Pinkfong’s FIN-tastic Adventure, a live high-energy performance pairing beloved Pinkfong characters and songs with dynamic dance moves. The colorful show plays at the beautiful Mission Bay Theater several times a day on weekends, and is just short enough to be a fun and easy watch for kiddos. The performance is only around until June 22, so make sure to see it while you can. My little one truly hasn’t stopped babbling about it.

After the show, stick around for meet-and-greet opportunities with your kids’ favorite characters, including Pinkfong, Baby Shark, Mommy Shark, and Daddy Shark. We loved the photo opps! You’ll also find new themed snacks, merchandise, and treats for sale, including special Baby Shark popcorn, Baby Shark cotton candy, and Baby Shark lemonade.

The immersive Jellyfish Experience is sure to mesmerize the whole family.

New Jewels of the Sea: The Jellyfish Experience

I’ve always been fascinated by jellyfish—I could watch them undulate through the water for hours. And, now, I can confirm that SeaWorld’s newest permanent exhibit, Jewels of the Sea: The Jellyfish Experience, is simply mesmerizing!

The immersive experience–which is the largest standalone jellyfish exhibit in the country–guides visitors through the “Realm of Jellies,” where they can explore the creatures’ habitats, their unique anatomy, and more, through enchanting aquariums and displays. The journey also features a 360-degree digital adventure, where LED visuals captivate kids and grownups alike with a deep-sea dive through the eyes of a jellyfish.

Along the way, you’ll find the oh-so-memorable “Jellyfish Passage,” a 10-foot-tall living archway of moon jellies, and believe you me when I say: have your camera ready! This was my favorite part of the day and a big hit with my kids.

You'll find rides for every age and thrill level at SeaWorld San Diego.

What Ages is SeaWorld Best For?

With my own crew ranging from ages 2 to 9, my favorite thing about SeaWorld is that it truly caters to kids–and adults–of all ages.

In addition to the engaging shows and exhibits, SeaWorld offers rides for every age and thrill level. Adrenaline seekers will love the roller coasters, like the Electric Eel, with its straight drops and electrifying loops. Meanwhile, younger visitors flock to more kid-friendly options, like swinging on the Octarock and riding the waves on Rescue Rafter.

Note that children under the age of 3 get into SeaWorld San Diego for free!

Kid-friendly amenities make SeaWorld San Diego a perfect destination for families.
