Long Island Kids' Activities March 14, 15 & 16: LEGO Sculptures, St. Patrick's Day Events, Incredible Kid Day and More
With the warmer weather descending upon us and St. Patrick's Day being celebrated across Long Island, it's the perfect opportunity to break free from the snow boots and down jackets and bask in the sunshine. Of course, if you're still waiting for the mercury to rise a bit more, there are plenty of indoor activities for the whole family as well, such as a LEGO sculpture event at the Heckscher Museum of Art or Incredible Kid Day at the Long Island Children's Museum.

Goldilocks & The Three Bears Puppet Show - Sag Harbor. This classic tale of porridge and intruders unfolds with miniature puppets within a small suitcase stage, featuring rotating scenery.
Incredible Kid Day - Garden City. On this special holiday, head to the Long Island Children's Center to make a colorful ribbon badge to celebrate what a super kid you are. Pin it on yourself or award a badge to someone else who deserves it for being an incredible kid!
Build Along With David (The Creative Art of Lego) - Huntington. Join LEGO artist David Haliski in creating a unique LEGO sculpture. Several of his creations will be on view March 15 and 16 only.
Starlab Planetarium - Sands Point. Take a celestial adventure in the magical night sky via the indoor, inflatable Starlab Portable Planetarium. Visitors will hear stories about the stars and take a simulated space ride. Following the 30-minute show, stay for an ‘astronomical’ craft project.
St. James St. Patrick's Day Parade - St. James. The route runs along Lake Avenue from Woodlawn to Railroad Avenue. Piper bands, marching bands, Scout troops and more will be in the parade.
Spring Kids Craft Project - Port Washington. Kids are invited to participate in a fun, free crafting project, which will be featured in the shop's new window display! At the end of the event, every child will receive a special thank you gift.
St. Patrick's Day at Pindar Vineyards - Peconic. Live music, cheeses, meats, Irish soda bread--and for the adults--wine.
Open House at CSTL - Rockville Centre. At the Center for Science Teaching and Learning, meet the staff, roam the grounds, and learn about upcoming events and activities.
Nobody Loves a Dragon - Oakdale. Clarance, the golden tailed dragon, is a peace loving fellow who collects wild flowers and helps young Prince Robin with his homework and has poetry competitions with kindly old Sir Slipshod until … evil Sir Cad and his accomplice, Lady Sorrowell, a sorceress, pursue him for his golden tail.

Irish Festival - Hempstead, Hofstra University. Enjoy music and dance performances throughout the day, as well as a variety of vendors and authentic Irish food. Featuring: The Tommy Mulvihill Band, The Black Velvet Band, Katie's Puppets, Hirten Family Irish Dancers, and MC Tony Jackson.
Alex the Jester - SUNY Stony Brook. Alex the court jester takes the stage guaranteeing fun for all. Take an inspiring journey to Medieval times, with sight gags, stunts, and a funny sounding gibberish tongue called Grammalot.
Purim Carnival - Commack. Megliah reading, Purim spiel, Hamantaschen and DJ dance part, bouncy castle, popcorn, arts & crafts.
Oisin the Brave Moon Adventure - Port Washington. A fee of $10 per child includes an activity, as well as cookie and a juice box for all.
The Blarney Stone - Garden City. The Blarney Stone is a famous stone in Ireland that is thought to have a special power. The Long Island Children’s Museum invites you to come and decorate your own stone and test the legend out for yourself. Enjoy music and dance performances throughout the day, as well as a variety of vendors and authentic Irish food.
St. Patrick's Day at the Whaling Museum - Cold Spring Harbor. In honor of Irish-American Heritage Month, discover Irish pirates who ruled the seas. Design your own Jolly Roger to hang at home.
Seal Walk - Bridgehampton. Observe harbor seals and shorebirds from the bluffs overlooking Moriches Bay. Reservations are necessary. Bring binoculars.
