Your child doesn’t have to be a natural athlete in order to love a sports birthday party. While many indoor sports centers offer traditional games like soccer and baseball, just as many have expanded their themes to include relay races, Capture the Flag and, yes, even dodgeball.

We last took a look at some great places to have a sports birthday in Westchester, and now we’re going to expand our choices to the rest of the lower Hudson Valley. In this list you’ll find several more options for active kids to have a birthday bash. For even more birthday idea, be sure to take a look at our Party Planner Guide.

Orange

Primo Sports – Florida
Primo has one-hour and 90-minute playtime options for those who want to go crazy on its indoor turf fields or basketball courts. Nearly any type of sport is offered, including soccer, flag football, floor hockey, lacrosse, volleyball, dodgeball, kickball, whiffle ball, Capture the Flag, relay races and even Pickle! Although a staff member is included to help direct activities, you’ll have to pay an extra fee for someone to help you in the party room. Food and paper products are also your responsibility. We will say that this is one of the more affordable indoor sports options if you don’t mind bringing the food and tossing the paper plates at the end.

Orange County Sports Club – Florida
OCSC offers indoor and outdoor options for parties. The indoor option is a gymnastics-themed party and includes one hour of staff-led gymnastics activities. The outdoor option gives party goers an hour on the field with sports activities of your choice! Options include soccer, football, Capture the Flag, etc. In addition to the staff-guided hour of play, both come with 30 minutes in the party room. For either option, choose the Basic package that doesn't include food or decorations, or the Deluxe package that builds in balloons, pizza, drinks, coffee, cake and cleanup. If pizza isn’t your thing, there are a few other food options available.

The Yard Sports Village – Warwick
A former jail (yes, jail), the recently opened Yard is run by the same crew at the Sports Rock in Chester. Parties here include an hour on the turf with a field coach (you choose the sport!) and 45 minutes in the party room. The price is quite low—only 10 kids are included in the base fee—but you’re responsible for everything except the tables, chairs and tablecloths.

Rockland

Bounce! Trampoline Sports – Valley Cottage
In addition to flipping and flying on the jumbo trampolines, bouncers can play trampoline basketball or dodgeball at their party. Little jumpers can party in the separate Bounce Jr. space. Parties include 90 minutes of hopping time and 30 minutes in the party room. Pizza, water and paper goods are included, and they’ll handle the set-up and clean-up. You can also tack on party favors if you so desire.

Vision Sports Club – Pearl River
This fitness center holds parties in its Sports Zone, an 8,000-square-foot indoor turf field. Parties come with an hour of play time on the field (you can purchase more if you desire) and 30 minutes for cake and pizza. Any number of games can be played in the Zone, including dodgeball, floor hockey, whiffle ball, lacrosse or obstacles courses. Pizza and drinks are included.

Dutchess

Hudson Valley Renegades – Wappingers Falls
Baseball fans can party at Dutchess Stadium, home to the minor league Renegades. Two packages are available and both give the birthday girl or boy the chance to visit the dugout, as well as have his or her name on the scoreboard! You can go with food vouchers from the snack stand or an all-you-can-eat picnic, and each guest will be able to watch the game from the grandstand.

All Sport Heath & Fitness – Fishkill
This is one of the few places to offer a swimming party as one of its options, and you don’t even have to worry about the weather since the pool is indoors and heated! (Children must be 7 or older.) In addition to swimming, you can choose from such activities as martial arts, basketball, soccer, dodgeball, tennis or flag football — or even a NERF or a dance party! Parties include an hour of playtime, 30 minutes in the party room, paper goods, pizza, juice or soda, and help with set up and clean up. It should be noted that there’s an additional fee if you’re not a member of All Sport.
