Westchester Ballet Company’s World-Class “The Nutcracker” Coming to Lehman Center
This December, Westchester Ballet Company returns to Lehman Center for the Performing Arts with its enchanting presentation of the beloved holiday classic, The Nutcracker. The full-length ballet features exquisite choreography, opulent costumes, incredible special effects, and a cast that includes renowned adult guest performers and nearly 100 young dancers from 30 towns across the Westchester area and beyond.
This annual performance is a regional favorite, welcoming thousands of kids and families each and every holiday season. Read on to learn more about The Nutcracker and purchasing tickets.
What can I expect at Westchester Ballet Company’s The Nutcracker?
Set in 1830s Europe, The Nutcracker tells the story of young Clara as she travels on a magical journey on Christmas Eve with the fantastical Nutcracker at her side. Set to Tschaikovsky's beautiful and oh-so-recognizable score, the wondrous (and dialogue-less) story is whimsical and engaging.
Is the performance kid-friendly?
Yes! Westchester Ballet Company is a nonprofit youth ballet featuring highly trained dancers ages 6-18 from across Westchester and the surrounding region. Not only has WBC made it their mission to create performance opportunities for young dancers–while offering meaningful financial aid and scholarships to those who require it–they also strive to make their productions accessible to all ages and audiences.
When is The Nutcracker playing at Lehman Center?
There are two performances on Saturday, December 14 at 2:00 pm and Sunday, December 15 at 2:00 pm.
