Mother's Day is time to celebrate mom, have fun, and enjoy time together. On May 12 this year, families in Miami and South Florida can treat mom to something special. And what is more special than a fantastic, memory-making experience, perhaps at a family-friendly restaurantday trip, or even an outdoor festival

We have compiled a list packed with super fun things to do in Miami and South Florida that the whole family can enjoy, but things especially that focus on the woman of the hour.

1. Brunch With Good Views or Good Vibes

Start the day by bringing mom coffee or tea in bed and let her leisurely get ready for a wonderful brunch. Whether you are looking for something fancy or casual, there are plenty of amazing brunch options, including, 1000 North in Jupiter; Elisabetta's; in West Palm Beach or Delray Beach; Shooter's or Pelican Grand in Fort Lauderdale; The Rusty Pelican in Key Biscayne; and Isabelle's in Coconut Grove.

2. A Spa Day

Treat mom to a day at a local hotel spa. Spa treatments can last for an hour or more based on the type of services booked. A facial, body scrub, massage, pedicure, or manicure are some of the most popular, and you can even grab brunch before or dinner after so mom is feeling the familial love as well. The Ritz Carlton South BeachRitz Carlton Fort Lauderdale, and the Spa at the Four Seasons in Palm Beach are all great options.

3. Enjoy a Relaxing Beach Day

Pack lunch, snacks, dinner, a bottle of wine, or anything else that would make the day more fun. Then head to the beach for a day with the family. Many beaches have fishing, paddleboarding, kayaking, playgrounds, and other amenities that can make your day catching rays fun and relaxing, while keeping kids entertained.

4. Check Out the Resort Pass App

Living in a place where many tourists come on vacation makes it possible to go on a staycation anytime. If you don't know about it already, check out the app "Resort Pass" and see what local hotels have day passes to enjoy their pool and other amenities. Resort Pass gives you the ability to purchase day passes, spa day passes, rent cabanas, and more so you can go and enjoy all the amenties of the hotel and then go home at night.

5. Head South for a Day in the Keys

Whether you go for the day and fish, boat, or bring your beach chair, a day in the keys is a day-trip drive for many of us. Enjoy a great meal with a view of the water and go to a local beach park to enjoy the relaxing Keys for the day. Great restaurant options include Morada Bay, The Big Chill, or Skipper's Dockside.

6. Have Fun at a Local Water Park

If you have children that you enjoy taking to water parks, why not have fun and laughs with them for the day at one of the many in South Florida. In Miami-Dade County, check out Tidal Cove Water Park. In Broward County, check out Quiet Water Park or Castaway Island. In Palm Beach County, check out Rapids Water Park.

7. Grab a Table at a Kid-Friendly Brewery

Enjoy a day or a meal with your mom at a kid-friendly brewery. Your craft beer-loving mom can get a flight, try new blends, listen to music, and play games while enjoying time with the family. Check out Rock & Brews in Plantation, World of Beer in Miramar, Doral and Royal Palm Beach, or Tarpon River Brewery in Fort Lauderdale.

8. Go Shopping

If your mom is all about shopping, why not enjoy it with her, maybe even be there so she can pick out something she really wants for Mother's Day. If you want to enjoy the outdoors while shopping, try Las Olas in Fort Lauderdale, Lincoln Road in Miami Beach, Merrick Park in Coral Gables, or Mizner Park in Boca Raton.

9. Enjoy a Show at a Local Theater

Does mom like the theater? If so, we have local theaters in South Florida where you can take in a show and enjoy the day together. Whether you prefer a funny, serious, or interactive show, there are so many options. Broward Center for the Performing Arts, Coral Springs Center for the Arts, Hard Rock Live, Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County, and the Raymond F. Kravis Center for the Performing Arts are all great options for live theater, plays, music, and more for your live theater-loving mom.

10. Enjoy a Local Fair or Festival

We are so close to the Bahamas—only a ferry boat ride away—so why not go for the day. Enjoy the ride over, a package that includes access to the beach and a hotel with amenities, or just walk around and feel like you got away for the day.

There are many Intracoastal or Atlantic Ocean charter boats that you and a group can charter. Let mom sit back and enjoy the views with the family while relaxing and enjoying the sun and breeze.

14. Visit a Botanical Garden

We in South Florida have some great botanical gardens, and many host weekend festivals on holiday weekends. Enjoy the outdoors amid the beauty of the gardens at places such as the Fairchild Botanical Gardens, Viscaya Museum & Gardens, or the Morikami Museum and Gardens.

15. Go Ice Skating

If you prefer an indoor activity, then head to your local ice rink. Enjoy a meal and zoom around the ice with a smile on your face. Some ice rink options include the Pines Ice Arena, the Florida Panthers Ice Den, and Boca Ice.

16. Go on a Day Trip

17. Take Mom Out to a Ballgame

Loan Depot Park, home of the Miami Marlins, is right here in Miami. Take your sports-loving mom to a Mother's Day game against the visiting Philadelphia Phillies.

18. Enjoy a Local Farm

There are many local farms that host activities and festivals for the weekend. Take the family for a day and enjoy animals, farm food, and farm activities. Just don't forget the sunscreen and walking shoes. Pinto Farms and Tinez Farms are two great options.

19. Visit a Local Zoo or Animal Sanctuary

There are so many great locations to visit with animals in South Florida. Not only can you see monkeys, elephants, and gators, but you can also see tons of butterflies and endangered animals such as sloths and koalas. Some great options include Zoo Miami, Palm Beach Zoo, Butterfly World, Lion Country Safari and Jungle Island.

20. Go on an Airboat Ride

How often do you just go to the movies? Mother's Day is a great day to enjoy some popcorn, candy, and a flick at your local theater with mom.

22. Enjoy a Day at Home with Planned Activities

Make coupons for your mom that highlight activities you can do together at home. Play a board game, go in the pool, take a walk, ride bikes, or pick a new activity to do. Enjoy a day at home just enjoying each other's company, and don't forget to grab takeout menus so mom doesn't have to cook.

23. Garden with Your Mom

If you have a mom that loves to garden and takes a sense of pride in her yard, then head to your local nursery, pick out some plants and flowers together, and spend the day helping her garden.

24. Pack a Picnic and Spend the Day at a Local Park

What is more relaxing than packing mom's favorites, grabbing a blanket and chairs, and heading to a local park for a picnic? Upgrade to a park with a grill and cook dinner for mom.
