Whether you're celebrating Christmas or Hanukkah or both, we’ve got the events for you (with even some Christmas Eve Eve fun thrown in). Catch a holiday-inspired flick, sit on Santa's lap before he jets off (or jets in to Princeton), visit a WinterFest and enjoy plenty of holiday treats. Have a merry one!

A Christmas Carol (Princeton)

Sure, you’ve seen it before, but you haven’t seen it as performed by the marvelous McCarter. Join Ebenezer Scrooge on his journey to Christmas past, present, and future presented by the McCarter Theatre Center. December 23 and 24. Ticket prices vary. For more information: 609-258-2787.

Santa's Village (Washington)

Before Santa jets off to his busiest day of the year, be sure to snag a photo with him and ride on a horse drawn sleigh while you're at it.  Enjoy sweet treats from Mrs. Claus' Gift Shop and say hello to Rudolph and his friends in the Reindeer Barn.  Santa's Village Tour: $5, Picture With Santa: $6.  December 22, 23, 11 a.m. -9 p.m. For more information: 908-246-3044.

Santa Flies in to Princeton Airport

Speaking of jetting, Santa flies in to Princeton Airport on December 24th! A tradition that began in 1985, the arrival of Santa has evolved into an event for local families and those less fortunate. Bring a new wrapped toy to the airport before or on the 24th (the website says the deadline was December 16th, but Mommy Poppins called the elves at the airport and confirmed that the event is NOT closed) to participate. Santa’s ETA is 11am, so get there prior to that time for a good viewing of that jet-setter in red flying low over the airport and landing. FREE. For more information: 609-921-3100.

Holiday Movie Fridays (Whippany)

Before the hustle and bustle and all the other madness of Christmas weekend takes over, catch a free flick at the Morris County Library. Olivia's Wintertime Cheer (Westfield)

Hanukah Celebration (Livingston)

WinterFest Family Funfest (West Orange)

The Annual Christmas Delaware River Crossing Reenactment (Washington Crossing, PA)

Witness the reenactment of George Washington’s historic 1776 Delaware River Crossing on Christmas Day. During the event, visitors watch as reenactors in Continental military dress listen to a speech by Washington and then row across the river in three replica Durham boats.  December 25, 1:00-4 p.m. FREE.
