Sadly, Tribeca Cinemas Kids Club ceased operations in 2010.

Tribeca Cinemas Kids Club—Not only do you get a great selection of films from animated shorts to classics, to Tribeca Film Festival favorites in this series, but each movie is followed by an activity and snack. Every other Saturday there will be two films, one for ages 3 and up in the morning and a second for ages 7 and up. My pick is the Buster Keaton program on December 5, 2009. Tickets are $10/adult, $7/child, tribecafilm.com for more info.
New York International Children's Film FestivalThe NYICFF hosts an annual film festival with the best of worldwide movies for kids, but now they also screen films year round at 5 different locations in Manhattan. You can see feature films like the upcoming Millions or a wide variety of animated shorts from countries all over the world, like Osamu Tezuka's original 1963 Astro Boy film. Ticket prices vary by theater. Find out more at gkids.tv.

Big Movies for Little Kids is a film series for children ages two and up. The series takes place every other Monday (excluding holidays) during the school year at 4pm at Cobble Hill Cinemas on Court Street in Brooklyn. Movies tend to be a litle bit off the beaten track, but still very fun and accessible for kids. This fall look out for Peter and the Wolf (two versions) and Krtek, Czech animated short films about a curious little mole. Admission is $6.50 per person. Tickets may be purchased in advance at the box office beginning the Tuesday before each screening. *Children under 2 are admitted FREE and must sit on a lap.*

Landmark Sunshine Rattle and Reel—This Lower East Side theater is the only one that I know of that shows adult movies at a special time when parents or caregivers are encouraged to bring a baby along. So this series isn't for kids so much as it is for a chance to get to the movies with kids, but for you. Upcoming films are announced on the LandmarkTheatres website a few weeks before. Tickets are $12.50 per adult.
