If you're not heading out of town for spring break, you may be wondering how to keep the kids busy during their time off. Spring break camps offer a great way to keep them active, learning, and engaged while they're out of school.  

Westchester offers many specialized programs, so there's sure to be a camp to please most interests. We've rounded up a dozen choices, including those focusing on nature, arts, and sports.

Outdoor exploration is a key component of Greenburgh Nature Center's Spring Nature Experience Camp.

Nature

Greenburgh Nature Center – Scarsdale
April 15-19, 2019
K-3rd grade
At Greenburgh's Spring Nature Experience Camp, specialists will expose children to a variety of activities each day, including crafts, games, and outdoor exploration. A snack will be provided to each child. Enrollment is limited, and pre-registration is required online. Membership is required to register for the program.

Teatown Lake Reservation – Ossining
April 15-19, 2019
Ages 4-5 (half day)
Ages 6-12 (full day)
Teatown's Spring Fling Mini-Camp lets kids explore nature through a mix of outdoor explorations and age-appropriate activities, games, and crafts. Four- and 5-year-olds can enjoy a half-day of play where they will be provided with a snack and partake in crafts and games. Six- through 12-year-olds stay a full day (until 3 pm) and should pack their own lunch, though they will also be provided with a snack. 

Arts

Artistree Arts – Mamaroneck
April 15-19, 2019
4th–9th grade, K–3rd grade, and 3–5 years
This year's 4th–9th grade camp will have a Hamilton theme! Kids will learn the songs, dances, and scenes from the musical, with different classes each day that focus on singing, improv, hip-hop dance, and more. The week concludes with an open house performance at The Emelin Theatre. The full-day camps for K–3rd-grade and the half-day camp for preschoolers end with a special performance each day.

Kids can get creative at Pelham Arts Center's Spring Break Camp.

Pelham Art Center – Pelham
April 15-19, 2019
Ages 3-16
Pelham Art Centers offers several options for budding artists. In Spring Break Camp, kids ages 3-7 can create with clay, paint, and mixed media, and also take part in acting, storytelling, and creative movement. Kids ages 8–14 can take Create with Clay or Make a Horror Movie, and kids ages 12–16 can sign up for Make a Trailer. Rates vary; register for the whole week or by the day.

Sports and Play

A-Game Sports – Scarsdale 
April 15–19, 2019
K–8th grade
A-Game offers a multi-sport camp and a baseball/softball camp. With multi-sport, kids will get to play soccer, kickball, wiffle ball, relay races, capture the flag, and many other games. Daily and week-long registration available.

Great Play – Scarsdale
April 15–19, 2019
Camp Junior: Ages 3–6
Camp: Ages 4–10
Two- to three-hour sessions allow campers to enjoy a dozen activities, including instruction in a wide variety of age appropriate motor and sport skills. Kids also tackle obstacle courses, climbing, balancing, and more. Open to both members and non-members.

Kids in Sports – Scarsdale
April 15–19, 2019
Ages 3–7
This half-day mini-camp will include a range of sports, arts and crafts, storytime, and other activities. Extended-day option also available. 

Life Time Fitness – Harrison
April 15–19, 2019
Ages 5–12
In addition to playing with Legos, games, and crafts, kids can swim or go rock climbing. Full day is from 8am–6pm. Open to both members and non-members.

The Little Gym – Scarsdale
April 15–19, 2019
Ages 2–8
When school is not in session, this camp combines much-needed physical activity with special events, crafts, games, and Lego Duplo play. A snack is provided. Sessions run 9am–noon and 1–4pm.

The Play Place – Elmsford
April 19 and 22–26, 2019
This program is designed to keep kids actively learning and having fun the entire day. While participating and learning the fundamentals of tennis and soccer, children will also enjoy arts and crafts and playing in the indoor play space. Extended-day options available.

The Rock Club – New Rochelle
April 15–19, 2019
Ages 5–15
To enjoy this mini-camp, kids should wear loose, comfortable clothes and be ready for adventure as they literally climb the walls! Morning and afternoon sessions are available. Sign up by the day or for the whole week.

Sportime USA – Elmsford
April 15–19 & 22, 2019
Ages 5 and up
Children enjoy unlimited use of the climbing wall, laser tag, bumper cars, Ballocity, and more. Both half- and full-day options are available.
