For many Westchester and Hudson Valley families, transportation to and from summer camp is a crucial component in the decision-making process. Having pick-up and drop-off services can make the overall experience more enjoyable for campers and parents alike.

To help you find a camp to match your transportation needs, we’ve rounded up 20+ camps that provide busing to and from their facilities, either door-to-door or at a central location. Whether your kid is into sports or STEM, rowing or rocketry, these camps offer lots of great activities.

Westchester County Camps with Transportation

Badger Day Camp – Larchmont

Kids ages 3-15 can attend this day camp offering summer sports, swimming, and arts and crafts activities, as well as the cooking, dance, STEAM, and a variety of other choices. Door-to-door transportation via bus or van is included in the fee.

Camp Elmwood – White Plains

Elmwood focuses its activities on four main cornerstones: swimming, athletics, creative arts, and performing arts. Campers in many Westchester towns can enjoy door-to-door transportation, as can those living in Manhattan and Riverdale.

Camp Hillard – Scarsdale

Family-owned and operated since 1929, Camp Hillard has programs for children ages 3-13. Door-to-door, air-conditioned, mini-bus transportation is available for many Westchester towns and villages, as well as Manhattan, Riverdale, and Greenwich, Connecticut. Also great? If a camper needs to head home before the camp day ends, Camp Hillard can accommodate that as well.

Challenge Camp – Hartsdale

Enrichment is the name of the game for campers at Challenge Camp. Children take morning and afternoon “workshops,” where they are able to choose from such activities as photography, fashion, cooking, chess, Legos, animation, yoga, fencing, and performing arts. 

Future Stars – Purchase

Geared toward sports-crazed children ages 5-17 (depending on the activity), campers can choose from a variety of programs, including tennis, soccer, baseball, swimming, cheerleading, and horseback riding. There are also multi-sport programs, circus arts and STEAM classes. Door-to-door transportation is available for an additional fee for those living throughout Westchester. The program is held at SUNY Purchase College.

Mohawk Day Camp offers door-to-door transportation for children in Westchester.

Mohawk Day Camp – White Plains

With eight swimming pools, seven craft centers, two music centers, two zip lines, an apple orchard, a farm, and a dizzying array of sports facilities, Camp Mohawk aims to appeal to nearly every child. Door-to-door transportation is provided to children in the county, with central pick-up and drop-off locations in Manhattan and Brooklyn. For young kids, car seats are also provided.

Mount Tom Day Camp – New Rochelle

Anchored by a 19-room, three-story mansion, this camp boasts three swimming pools, tennis courts, a challenge course, an archery range—and so much more, including, like many other summer camps, its own dedicated Gaga arena. Door-to-door transportation via bus is offered for several Westchester towns, as well as in the Bronx, and parts of Manhattan, Queens, and Brooklyn.

Purchase Day Camp – Purchase

Children get to swim twice a day in one of the camp’s four pools at Camp Purchase, as well as spend time on the sports fields, in the science area, or on the 18-hole mini-golf course. There’s also an indoor activity area with a computer lab, yoga and dance auditorium, and woodworking shop, to name just a few of the facilities. Door-to-door transportation is available for Purchase, West Harrison, Rye Brook, Harrison, Port Chester, Rye, and White Plains.

Sprout Westchester – Croton-on-Hudson

Sprout Westchester campers enjoy a well-rounded summer camp experience with both instructional and free swim, creative and performing arts programs, sports, nature activities, arts and crafts, and Jewish cultural programming, plus a robust selection of electives for kids to choose from. Central transportation is available.

Squire Camps – Hartsdale

Held at Maria Regina High School, kids can pick different camps at Squire: Sports, which focuses on athletics, and Advantage, which offers a variety of activities, plus a tennis academy. Door-to-door transportation from some Westchester areas and Riverdale is available for an additional fee. There are central pick-up and drop-off locations in Dobbs Ferry and Irvington that provide transportation for free.

Summer Trails – Granite Springs

Flexibility is highlighted at Summer Trails, with campers permitted to attend not only partial months but partial days and weeks as well. A shuttle from several local towns is included, while door-to-door transportation is available for an extra fee.

Young People’s Day Camp – Yonkers

Kids ages 4-14 can attend this camp, which boasts swimming, sports, a playground, and arts and crafts. Door-to-door transportation is included in the fee. This is one of the most affordable day camps with transportation in the area.

Deer Mountain Camp in Pomona provides transportation from Westchester, Rockland, and Orange counties.

Rockland County Camps with Transportation

Deer Mountain Camp – Pomona

Family-owned and -operated since the 1950s, Deer Mountain lets kids swim in one of the six pools and canoe in its lake, plus enjoy tons of other activities—from yoga to ceramics. Transportation is provided from Westchester, Rockland, and Orange County, as well as Manhattan, Brooklyn, Hoboken, Jersey City, and Bergen County.

Deerkill Day Camp – Suffern

Family-owned and operated since the 1950s, Deerkill Day Camp includes pools—with water slides!—tennis, handball, a 75-foot gymnastics pavilion, and lots more. Door-to-door transportation is provided in NYC, Rockland, Bergen, Orange, and Westchester counties. Central pickup is offered in some New Jersey locaitons as well.

Gate Hill Day Camp – Stony Point

Kids ages 3 to entering 10th grade can swim, play sports, practice martial arts, learn music and participate in performing arts at Gate Hill. Door-to-door transportation is provided from many towns in Westchester, Rockland, Orange, and Bergen counties, as well as parts of Manhattan. The camp has a helpful interactive map to see if your town is included.

The Nature Place Day Camp in Chestnut Ridge offers free busing for children living in Westchester.

The Nature Place Day Camp – Chestnut Ridge

Held on 200 acres on the Green Meadow Waldorf School, campers are given the opportunity to hike, camp, explore and swim, as well as learn about animals, nature and farming. Children living Westchester, Manhattan, Brooklyn, and some NJ locations can take a bus from central drop-off points for an added fee. Transportation is provided by Chestnut Ridge Transportation.

Pre-School Playhouse Funland – Blauvelt

This camp is for younger children, ages to 2-9, and has swimming, arts and crafts, sports, and field trips. Door-to-door transportation is offered.

Camp Ramaquois – Pomona

Housed in the foothills of the Ramapo Mountains, Camp Ramaquois features traditional swimming and athletic activities on its 44-acre campus, but it also adds in a spray park, zip line, ropes courses, science lab, and an indoor gym, to just name a few. Door-to-door bus or van transportation is available for children living in Westchester, Rockland, and Bergen counties, as well as those in NYC.

Woodmont Day Camp – New City

Not only is door-to-door transportation available from Woodmont, but this camp takes it a step further by offering a Bus Activity Calendar with designated theme days just for the ride (think Rock, Paper, Scissors or Bus Cheer Day). Transportation is available for those living in Rockland, Westchester, and Bergen counties, plus Manhattan.

Orange County Camps with Transportation

Day Camp In The Park – Harriman State Park

This camp, held on Lake Tiorati in Harriman State Park, boasts its own water park with several water slides, a water seesaw, a water trampoline, and an obstacle course. Door-to-door transportation via mini bus is included in the fee; it’s available for children living anywhere in Orange, Westchester, Rockland, and Bergen counties, as well those in Manhattan.

YMCA Camp Discovery – Harriman State Park

This YMCA camp is held at Upper Twin Lakes in Harriman State Park and is available for kids ages 5-15. Swimming and boating are offered as part of a comprehensive summer program. Children can be bused from central pick-up and drop-off locations at the Monroe Woodbury Middle School or the South Orange Family YMCA in Monroe.

Putnam County Camps with Transportation

Kiwi Country Day Camp – Carmel

Kiwi provides bus transportation from central locations in Westchester, including Katonah, Yorktown, Somers, Chappaqua, Bedford, and more. Plus, there is also door-to-door transportation provided for an additional fee.

Dutchess County Camps with Transportation

Hillcroft Day Camp – LaGrangeville

This camp has three swimming pools, as well as a lake, areas for sports, performing arts and other activities. The camp has transportation either via bus or van, depending on your location, with towns served including Fishkill, Wappingers Falls, Poughkeepsie, Hopewell Junction, Rhinebeck, Spackenkill, New Paltz, and Millbrook.
