There is no shortage of things to do in Los Angeles in May. From Mother's Day to Memorial Day, we've got the best events happening all month—and May the 4th be with you!

You've won the blue ribbon, your ship has come in, and mamas, it's your day this month. Fresh out the gate, it's the annual return of the LA County Fair. In a galaxy not so far away at the Academy Museum, a May the 4th Celebration takes place. LA Fleet Week docks into LA as the Port of Los Angeles hosts active military ships over Memorial Day weekend.

It's not too soon to start thinking about next year! School calendars for the largest school districts in Los Angeles County for the 2024-2025 school year are below, and you'll want to bookmark the page now for reference—especially when planning family vacations and booking summer camps. Follow the links for each district below for details on school holidays and semester breaks and to stay up-to-date on any last-minute changes from your local district.

There are no major changes from previous years. LAUSD is once again sticking with its 3-week winter break despite a false start at shortening it last year.

From Earth Day to Passover and a solar eclipse, ring in spring this April with tons of things to do in Los Angeles for kids. Don’t miss our favorite activities taking place in Los Angeles this month.

Los Angeles' April showers bring many exciting things to do this month (and hopefully, lots of wildflowers, too). Springtime festivals galore are in full bloom in Los Angeles throughout April, from the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books to the California Poppy Festival.

Plus, the sun (partially) disappears, which you can safely view at a Solar Eclipse Party at Cal Tech. The sun returns and leaves us fully illuminated to celebrate Earth Day at Heal The Bay. Things get really wild with the opening of the Skirball's newest exhibit, showcasing the art of Maurice Sendak.

Looking for the best things to do in Los Angeles this long Easter weekend? Here are some Easter egg hunts, Easter brunches, and more awesome spring events.

The Easter bunny hops throughout Los Angeles this weekend with springtime eggstravaganzas galore. With spring in the air, baseball begins, and we can root for the home team at the Dodgers Opening Weekend, dive into fandom at Anaheim's WonderCon, and enjoy all the amusements at the LA Spring Fair. But mostly, we can find a whole lot of Easter egg hunts.

If you're looking for fun things to do for St. Patrick's Day, this weekend is your pot of gold! Folks line the streets to cheer on the festive Hermosa Beach St. Patrick's Day Parade and County Ventura St. Patrick's Day Parade. There are tasty eats with Irish fare at the Original Farmers Market and Tanaka Farms. Green also heralds the approach of spring, with annual springtime festivals at Gilchrist Farms and Underwood Farms and the emergence of the Natural History Museum's Butterfly Pavillion.

Presidents Day weekend is jam-packed in Los Angeles. From the westside to the eastside, no one will be bored in LA during the long weekend. The Golden Dragon Parade winds through Chinatown, while Pasadena's Black History Parade pays tribute to Pasadena native Jackie Robinson. Get a free hot chocolate courtesy of a Wonka truck, and if that's not sweet enough, spread the love at a Family Valentine's Day Celebration in Santa Clarita. It's going to be a Whale of a Weekend!
