Legoland's Icicle Alley Skating Rink is a fun attraction to explore during its Holiday Bricktackular.
Why is Legoland's Holiday Bricktacular a Perfect Time to Visit Legoland?
This year, Legoland's Holiday Bricktacular is bigger and better than ever, with more decorations and attractions throughout the park. You can easily spend the entire day at the park, with plenty of entertainment to enjoy—from all-ages rides to fun shows, meet-and-greets, and, of course, endless opportunities to play with Lego bricks! The park is geared toward children ages 2-12 and the majority of the rides are made so families can ride together.
A standout addition to Holiday Bricktacular is the Elf Extravaganza, which is the festive hub of the park. Pro-tip: Take the skyflyer at the park entrance to save time walking and save the kids energy! Our personal favorite was the Icicle Alley Skating Rink, which has a synthetic Glice surface. Skates are available for FREE, and there's a designated area to store your belongings while you glide. Plus, there are plenty of skating aids to help kids feel confident on the ice—without the risk of taking down a grownup! If your child wants to skate for a second time, there's a designated shorter line for returning skaters.

Reindeer Girl leads a holly, jolly show on the holiday stage.
Besides Lego-themed rides and pay-to-play games surrounding the Elf Extravaganza, there are three live shows to watch at scheduled times. My daughter loved the Holly Hype Dance Party, which starred Reindeer Girl and Elves dancing to upbeat holiday songs. The elves even taught her dance moves to follow along which made her feel special.
The highlight of the Elf Extravaganza is the Holiday Headquarters, where guests can enjoy meet-and-greets with Lego holiday characters like Lego Santa, Elf Girl, Gingerbread Man, and a Toy Soldier. Don't forget to snap a fun photo with each character, especially when trying out the Lego hook hand pose!

Photo-ops abound with characters and creations at Legoland's Holiday Bricktacular.
Beautiful Photo-Ops at Legoland's Holiday Bricktacular
Still need a family photo for the Christmas card? You'll find plenty of photos-ops throughout the park. Before you even step inside, you can snap a shot with the beautiful Lego Wreath, along with a Lego snowman and friends near the entrance. A favorite for both fans and families is the 35-foot Lego Christmas tree on Brick Street. More than 360,000 Lego pieces were needed to build it!
Throughout the park, you'll find a variety of Lego characters, including cheerful elves, lining the paths. My 1-year-old loved these the most and made sure to say "hi" and give hugs to each one.
Plus, all the Legoland New York staff are dressed as elves or in winter wonderland-themed outfits, adding to the fun and photo opportunities.
Festive Food and Beverages at the Legoland Holiday Bricktacular
Food and beverages are spread out throughout the park, making it convenient for families to take a break. Next to the skating rink, the Holly Jolly Delight Huts serves options like peppermint Liege waffles, ramen, and chili. A fan favorite, Granny's Apple Fries, features Elf Ears: crispy apples dipped in chocolate and topped with a festive peppermint drizzle. For a hearty, kid-friendly meal, head to Smokey's Food Hall at the top of the park, where kid-pleasers include chicken fingers and pulled pork sandwiches.
Be sure to stop by the Cozy Cocoa Hut for some incredibly fun hot chocolates. There are three "loaded" options to choose from. We especially enjoyed the Candy Cane Lane with its frosted sugar rim. If you are looking for something basic, there's also a classic cocoa. Adults can order theirs spiked and sip while exploring the park.

Not ready to leave? Extend your day with a room at Legoland New York Hotel. To align with the Holiday Bricktacular, the resort hosts its special "Holly Jolly Nights" sleepover series.
We loved that the resort staff actively entertained the kids, making it easy for parents to relax. Resort nights are filled with festive holiday-themed games, activities, and surprise character appearances. My kids enjoyed searching the lobby for clues during the Lego Santa scavenger hunt and dancing with the elves at the Holly Jolly Night Dance Party.

An overnight stay comes with special nighttime access to Miniland!
Another highlight was the Miniland Twilight Tour, which let us take in the popular theme park attraction after dark. It was breathtaking seeing all the cities lit up at night and spotting the holiday elements sprinkled in New York City, including the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade, Santacon, and the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree. Make sure to pose for a family photo in front of the Lego Christmas tree, which gets lit after dark.
