Best Kid-Friendly Coffee Shops On Long Island
1. Southdown Coffee – Huntington, Glen Cove, Patchogue, Port Jefferson, Northport, Oyster Bay
If you want a great cup of coffee with a relaxed vibe, check out one of Southdown’s six locations. The staff knows their beans. The owner won third place in a national coffee roasting competition, and all baristas are friendly and knowledgeable. Kids will love their breakfast tacos, pastries, and hot cocoa.
2. The Babylon Bean – Babylon
This eclectic shop with an art deco flair in the heart of downtown Babylon is the perfect place to unwind. The menu has plenty of kid-friendly options, from hot cocoa and apple juice to smoothies and Italian sodas. The Babylon Bean hosts several monthly events, including live music. If this south shore location is too far, check out their sister shops, The Bay Shore Bean or The Sayville Bean.
3. Crazy Beans – Greenport, Stony Brook, Miller Place
Crazy Beans has three locations in Eastern Suffolk County. Each has a different menu, but all serve up barista-made beverages. The offerings are extensive and chock full of kid-friendly fare, and you don’t want to miss the specials. Recent specials included pancakes filled with Oreo bits and cookie dough.

4. Soul Brew – Huntington, St. James, Bellmore
Take your coffee to go or grab a seat at one of the three locations; each offers a zany and artsy atmosphere. Adults will love the organic, fair-trade coffee and tea sourced from surrounding areas. Kids will love the sweet treats on the menu, including the can’t-miss rainbow pancakes.
5. The Cup Coffeehouse – Wantagh
This shop has been serving coffee in an inviting atmosphere since 1996. Besides coffee and lattes, The Cup Coffeehouse has a full menu, including kid-friendly fare. If that’s not enough, the cafe has nighttime events, including open mics and crafts.
6. Hampton Coffee Company – Multiple Locations
As Long Island’s largest independent coffee roaster and retailer, Hampton Coffee Company has six locations on the East End. They take their coffee seriously and purchase most beans directly from the growers. As for food, the extensive menu includes gluten-free, vegan, vegetarian, and dairy-free options.
7. Massapequa Perk – Massapequa
This small, independent shop on the south shore offers patrons a cozy atmosphere and a full menu. Besides coffee made with freshly ground beans, there’s hot cocoa and cider for the kids.
8. Nana’s Ice Cream and Coffee House – Westbury
Enjoy a warm beverage from the espresso bar while little ones satisfy their sweet tooth at Nana’s in Westbury. There is something for everyone at this vibrant Westbury shop.
9. The Daily Roast Coffee and Tea – Wantagh
If you want to enjoy the fresh air while sipping a hot or cold beverage, check out the Daily Roast Coffee and Tea in Wantagh. This shop has plenty of outdoor seating on its back patio. The menu includes an extensive beverage list along with out-of-this-world sweet treats.
10. Catpurrccinos – Huntington
Quite possibly the most unique venue on the list, Catpurrcinos in Huntington village allows patrons to play with cats and enjoy hot beverages and sweet treats. A separate area of the shop has an adoption center where visitors can interact with cats and kittens available for adoption. There is a fee to enter the cat room, the proceeds of which help support the animals’ medical expenses and supplies. Reservations are not required to play with the kitties but are recommended on weekends and school holidays.
