Little ghouls and goblins can get their costumes ready early to enjoy lots of fun Halloween happenings leading up to the big day. Even if you choose not to go trick-or-treating, there are still plenty of fun Halloween events in Chicago for kids.

Kids can trick or treat with the animals at Brookfield Zoo at this not-so-scary event during the three weekends leading up to Halloween. Other activities include giant pumpkin carving, a Halloween craft, cupcake and cookie decorating, a haunted hayride, creepy cowboy carousel, a corn maze, a pumpkin smasher, costume parade, and costume contest.
