Best Things To Do in Westchester in March With Kids: Maple Sugaring, St. Patrick's Day, Drive-In Movie

In-person events are starting to populate our calendar again, and March brings with it a slew of new things to do in Westchester and the Hudson Valley. A highlight: The maple-sugaring season marches on, and visitors at local farms and nature centers can see how tree sap is converted to syrup.

While we're not quite ready to resume the grand parades of yore, we've rounded up several events to celebrate St. Patrick's Day, as well as those paying tribute to the spring equinox and Women's History Month. Below we've listed a dozen worthwhile events for the month, and many of our favorite finds are FREE!

We're looking forward to a few more weeks of all our Winter Fun Guide has to offer but also eyeing warmer and brighter days ahead. Meanwhile, more local attractions are opening their doors, and we've rounded up all the places that are open now. If you're itching to get away, you don't have to go far: We've found 15 hotels for a New York state staycation.

For more curated picks, our Event Calendar is updated regularly with in-person and virtual activities, so be sure to check back often.

Editor's note: While we are trying to promote safer activities that occur outdoors or with social distancing guidelines in place, please keep your family and others safe by always wearing a mask and practicing social distancing. If you arrive at an event that appears too crowded, try using the “nearby” search feature on our Event Calendar to find something else to do.
