Two Free NYC Preschool Fairs Help Parents Learn About Their Options

It seems like it's never too early to start thinking about school in NYC, but for parents of toddlers, September means the start of the anxiety-provoking preschool admissions process. To help humanize and demystify the experience, Mommy Poppins is sponsoring two Preschool and Early Education Fairs for NYC families this month.
These FREE events offer one-stop shopping where parents can get the scoop on dozens of preschools, alternative programs and other enrichment options in a casual, stress-free environment. All you need to do is register for the Uptown or Downtown Fair and show up!

REGISTER for Uptown
For the second year in a row, Mommy Poppins is partnering with the terrific mothers group, HRP Mamas, for the annual Lower Manhattan Early Education Fair, which caters to families living below Houston Street. We're also launching our inaugural Uptown Preschool Connection for programs above 60th Street in Manhattan.
At these fairs, parents can meet directors from dozens of preschools and early education programs, get detailed info and ask questions in a casual setting. It’s a great way to find out about your options, and narrow down the list of choices that seem like a good fit for your child.
Bonus: Every family that attends the Uptown Preschool Fair will receive a complimentary Sureshop stroller carryall from our friends at Hatch Things.
Both fairs are FREE to attend but registration is required and space is extremely limited. In fact, as of September 11, the Uptown Fair is completely booked. However, you can register to be placed on the wait list. See our listing for a complete list of programs attending. We hope to see you there!
Special thanks to our sponsors: Stonehenge NYC, Boogie Wipes and the New Victory Theater.
About the Author

Founder of Mommy Poppins
A fourth-generation Brooklynite, Anna started Mommy Poppins in 2007 to help families find the best things to do with kids in NYC, with a particular emphasis on sharing activities that are free, affordable, and enriching. The site, used by millions of families, has grown to become the ultimate resource for parents in the major US cities, plus travel guides for 100s of destinations.
Anna is a believer in the magic of summer camps, traveling with kids, and that you can raise kids on a budget and still have a rich life full of amazing memories. Anna's first Mommy Poppins book, The Young Traveler's Journal and Activity Book, published in 2025 and co-written with her daughter, Amelia Eigerman, brings that ethos to life, in addition to this website.
