The Cayton's Children's Museum hosts a Hanukkah Festival, exploring the power of identity and knowing one’s roots; standing up for your beliefs; the wonder of the unexpected; and seeking light in the darkness.
Highlights of the Hanukkah-themed programs throughout the museum include:
- Arts and crafts such as making Sun Catchers, candle-making, and a themed collaborative mural.
- Brief moments of quiet and mindfulness led by Rabbi Alyson Solomon leads
- Percussive Storytelling from Yiddish and Americana cultural traditions, performed by Cory Hills
- A collaborative and interactive dance piece for guests to participate in.
The museum's exhibitions are also themed, including the Wishing Wall, the Celebrate Booth, as well as various Astrobotanical light sculptures throughout the museum playing on the theme of lightness and darkness.
Admission is half priced all day and tickets can be purchased for either the morning (10am – 1pm) or afternoon (1pm – 7pm) window. Tickets are first come, first served. This event is expected to sell out.
