MLK Day of Service at Lachat Town Farm
Mon Jan 16, 2023
10:00am ET
Age: All Ages
Price: $20 to Assemble each Bag
This year's service project at Lachat Town Farm will work with local charity Person to Person (P2P) to stuff grocery bags full of necessary breakfast foods. Breakfast is one of the most important meals but often one that is skipped by those facing food insecurities. P2P currently serves approximately 28,000 individuals in lower Fairfield County, including the towns of Darien, New Canaan, Norwalk, Stamford, Weston, Westport, and Wilton.
How can you participate in serving on MLK Day?
- Register on our website no later than January 11th for bags of food that you and/or your family will assemble at Lachat to benefit individuals in need. Sign up for as many bags as you would like to put together on the day of the event. If you sign up for this option, you do not need to bring anything the day of. If you cannot attend, we welcome donations for bags so others can assemble for you!
- Another option on the day of the event, is to drop off much needed breakfast food items (e.g. cereal; peanut butter; pancake mix; maple syrup; boxes of granola or breakfast bars; bags of apples/oranges or bananas; bread; eggs; and organic whole milk).
** Activity dates/times are subject to change. Please click through to the activity website to verify.
