Santa Monica celebrates Fire Service Day at Fire Station 1. The community can meet local firefighters and learn about the department through a hands-on learning experience.

On site for meet-and-greets is Roger,  SMFD'snew K-9 peer support dog.

Open house activities for families and children include fire engines and trucks available to explore (including the SMFD ladder truck, the department’s largest piece of equipment!), and station tours with firefighters.

Attendees can learn hands-only CPR (without rescue breaths) alongside emergency preparedness information with the American Red Cross.
