The government might be shut down and with it the Smithsonian musuems and the zoo, but this weekend still offers a variety of activities for DC families. As can be expected at this time of year, indoor activities abound in our event calendar. Take your kiddos to a concert or make memories together through music with the National Symphony Orchestra. Get hands on with arts and crafts by making a snow globe or stained glass. Check out a local theatre show. For families looking for all things historial and educational, head down to College Park for its 28th annual city tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Many of these events are free, but some do require reservations, which you can do online so be sure and take a closer look at the events below and those on our calendar for all the details.
