Location:
Strathmore Music Center
The sensational Troupe Vertigo will join the BSO to present a new and exciting rendition of Tchaikovsky's beloved The Nutcracker, complete with jaw-dropping acrobatics and astonishing choreography. See this show at 7:30 on Dec. 12 at the Strathmore.
- Troupe Vertigo, a Los Angeles-based theatrical circus company, creates a mix of circus-dance-theater works that ignite the imagination with mentally and physically spellbinding performances.
- The Nutcracker is a Russian ballet, set on Christmas Eve, and the Troupe Vertigo production follows the plot: A young girl, Clara, receives a toy Nutcracker that comes alive at Midnight. After fighting off the infamous Mouse King, the Nutcracker transports her to the Land of Sweets, where they are treated to dances from all around the world. Some of the most famous Classical holiday tunes come from this ballet, including the Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy, the Russian Trepak, and the March.
