Fall is underway, and ‘tis the season to be orange. And there’s orange everywhere you look! The leaves are turning brilliant shades of auburn. Pumpkins are popping up at the farms, front stoops and even in the form of giant lawn inflatables. This weekend, there’s plenty of orange to go round. Party with pumpkins galore at the South Jersey Pumpkin Show. Revel in the season throughout the state at fantastic fall festivals, including the Allentown Fall Festival, the Hightstown Hometown Harvest Fair and the Dunellen HarvestFest. 11th Annual South Jersey Pumpkin Show (Woodstown, NJ)
Experience anything and everything pumpkin at this jam-packed festival, including a giant pumpkin pyramid, NJ’s largest pumpkin pie, a pumpkin dessert contest and the Little Miss & Mister Pumpkin Show. Kids will also love the amusement and pony rides, crafts and goody bags.

Allentown Fall Festival (Allentown, NJ)
Stroll along Main Street in historic Allentown and enjoy the creativity of local vendors, including crafters, artisans, and live music. In addition, don’t miss the classic car show, petting zoo, food and a Civil War reenactment.

African Penguin Awareness Weekend (Camden, NJ)
It’s the weekend of the penguin at Adventure Aquarium. Take part in penguin-tastic activities, including observing the creatures up close, chatting with biologists and watching penguin painting demonstrations. You may even choose to adopt a feathered friend at the gift shop.

Hightstown Hometown Harvest Fair (Hightstown, NJ) The tree-lined business district of Hightstown sets the stage for an enjoyable community event , with local vendors and family activities, such as pedal boats, mechanical bull-riding and a Ducky Derby. Stop by the children’s area for pony rides, inflatables, a petting zoo and entertainment. .

Ocktoberfest & Vendor Fair (Warren, NJ)
Celebrate New Jersey’s German community at this family-friendly event, with German music, local vendors and fun for the kids, including rides and face-painting. Be sure to come hungry; traditional German fare will be in abundance.

Fall Block Party (Newark, NJ)
Autumn’s looking green at this Greater Newark Conservancy’s Garden party. Pick up fresh produce, learn about gardening, participate in a scavenger hunt and decorate pumpkins. Enter to win door and raffle prizes.

Sussex County Harvest, Honey and Garlic Festival (Augusta, NJ)
Calling all garlic fans. This agricultural celebration features a farmer’s market, honey products and an abundance of garlic products. Children’s activities are also featured at this harvest event.

Dunellen HarvestFest (Dunellen, NJ)
Stop by the 2nd annual HarvestFest for a variety of fall festivities. Artists from around the state will feature their work while families can participate in music, dancing and kid activities.

19th Century All Hallow’s Eve (Farmingdale, NJ)
It’s all about Halloween, 19th century style, at Allaire Village. Activities include a costume contest, wagon rides, puppet shows and all kinds of old-fashioned fun.

Wellness in the Park Expo (Bloomfield, NJ)
Fitness and family are the focus of health festival with over 150 health and wellness vendors. The fair features live music, health screenings, eco-friendly products and children’s activities.

Action Painting Workshop (Elmer, NJ)

No school, no problem. Sign up your budding chef for cooking and baking fun at Bambino Chef. Camp is more fun with an apron, messy hands and a colorful fun kitchen. 9am to 12pm., Ages 4-7. 1pm to 4pm, Ages 8-12.
