Glendale Library Youth Spaces Grand Opening
Glendale Library holds a family friendly celebration in honor of the opening of its new Youth Spaces.
The events start at 10am with welcome remarks, followed by the ribbon cutting at 10:30am.
From 11am til 1pm, activities include storytimes in the Children's Space, Dungeons and Dragons in the Teen Space, demos of the Sound Space, and passport ecpliration of the new spaces. Guests can get a limite edition Grand Opening tote bag while supplies last.
There is a performance at 11am featuring Illusions by Allen Oshiro.
About the new spaces:
The newly redesigned Children’s Space features vibrant collections focused on age-appropriate materials, a versatile programming space and a new reading area.
In the new Teen Space, 13–18 year-olds can socialize, study, game and create with other teens in a soundproof communal area. The space includes group seating, study rooms for small groups, conversation spaces and gaming consoles, creating an environment where teens can connect. The public can learn how to record a podcast, music, and programs in the state-of-the-art Sound Space. (Schedule time with library staff to learn how to operate the Sound Space, sign up for time and start recording.)
Visitors to the Glendale Central Library receive 3-hour free parking across Harvard Street at the Marketplace parking structure with validation at the service desk.
