Golden Dragon Parade
LA families can ring in the Chinese Year of the Rat at the 121st annual Golden Dragon Parade. The colorful celebration of the first day of the lunar new year begins at the intersection of Hill Street and Ord in Chinatown.
In addition to the giant dragon that gives the parade its name, floats, marching bands, entertainers, local business leaders, and cultural groups abound. The parade is the climax of a series of events planned for the Chinese New Year Festival.
A map is available on the parade's website.
Never been to the Golden Dragon Parade before? Local mom Jackie Stansbury lets you know what to expect and how to approach the day.
