Golden Dragon Lunar New Year Parade
LA's Chinatown rings in the Year of the Dragon at the 125th annual Golden Dragon Parade. The colorful celebration of the first day of the lunar new year steps off at Hill Street at Temple.
In addition to the giant dragon that gives the parade its name, floats, marching bands, entertainers, local business leaders, and cultural groups abound.
The event is free to the public. In addition, tickets for grandstand seating can be purchased online.($40+ for adults; children under 3 accompanied by a paying adult are free.)
The parade starts at Hill Street at Temple toward Bernard, then goes right on Bernard, right on Broadway, and finishes at Broadway & Temple. This event is held rain or shine.
Never been to the Golden Dragon Parade before? Local mom Jackie Stansbury lets you know what to expect and how to approach the day.
