All Things Wicked & Wonderful
- see all dates
Something wicked is coming to the South Coast Botanic Garden ... and it's wonderful!
All Things Wicked & Wonderful takes over the Garden this fall, with an investigation of the Garden Graveyard, a Witch Hunt, the Howl-o-ween dog costume contest, and the garden's first ever Spider Pavilion.
All Things Wicked & Wonderful activities are sprinkled throughout the Garden:
Daring garden-goers can look into the skeleton pasts of Diabolical and Misunderstood plantings in the Garden Graveyard, and discover whether their dark reputations are well earned.
Hundreds of creepy crawlers live freely in the Spider Pavilion, though the Tarantulas are contained within glass cases. The Spider Wall educates guests about the brown widow, which was “discovered” in Torrance in 2003 as an invasive species on the West Coast.
A wicked witch has been lurking around the Garden. The Witch Hunt sends visitors to explore the spooky areas where she may be hiding, with in-person sightings during the last four weekends of October.
Four-legged friends can strut their stuff in the Howl-o-ween Costume Contest on October 30, during this month's Dog Walking hours.
The spooky spirit works its way into regular happenings as well, including classes and food and beverage offerings.
The Witch Hunt and the Diabolical and Misunderstood plantings are included with General Garden Admission. The Spider Pavilion requires an additional ticket that's $5 for Members and $7 for non-members.
