Meet author Carlos Matias and enjoy treats from a local Queens food vendor. Kids can participate in an arts & crafts activity, using paper quarters to "purchase" delicious treats from the vendor, just like Ernesto does in Emergency Quarters. It's a hands-on way to bring the story to life and teach valuable lessons about responsibility and decision-making.  

Event guidelines:

  • All attendees are encouraged to wear face masks at all times.
  • RSVP is highly encouraged but not required.
  • Additional copies of the event book will be available for purchase in-store.
  • The reading will be followed by a book signing.
  • As a reminder: If you are not feeling well, please do not come to the event.
