House of Wax Featuring a Tribute to Vincent Price
The Alex Film Society pays tribute to the Master of Menace himself, Vincent Price, with a special screening of House of Wax.
Considered the film that revitalized Vincent Price’s career, House of Wax was the start of what would ultimately become a long line of spooky genre films that comprised the majority of his career and forever earned him a place in the world of the macabre.
The event includes a special tribute to Vincent Price hosted by author, historian, and Vincent’s longtime friend, David Del Valle, as well as a pre-recorded video from Price’s daughter, Victoria, made especially for this event, which lands on the 25th anniversary of his passing.
The Vincent Price Art Museum will be on hand for a special fundraiser. Price wanted people from all walks of life to be able to appreciate art, so he donated a sizable portion of his collection and opened up the Vincent Price Art Museum. Located at the East Los Angeles College campus, admission is free to get in. However, like all non-profit organizations, they depend on donations to keep operating. They have special prints and offer memberships as part of their fundraising effort.
