Virginia Avenue Park hosts a jubilant celebration of justice and liberty in commemoration of the announcement of the emancipation of enslaved African Americans who lived in the former Confederacy - two years after the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation.

This year's theme is "Rising Above Racism: A Legacy of Empowerment & Pride".

Chazz Ross leads his traditional participatory drumming performance prior to the show. 

The Main Stage then presents a stellar line up of musicians including Blues artist Sonny Green, local favorite OPERATION: Butterfly, gospel group Lifeline Quartet, soloist Miss Aliya, and featuring soul singer, Sy Smith 

The festival also includes the Community Stage, featuring panel discussions and spoken word artists, a children's craft area, food vendors, community resource booths and cultural arts marketplace.
