The Quincy 400 Flag Day Parade & Fireworks

Mayor Thomas P. Koch and the City of Quincy have announced that the nation’s longest-running Flag Day Parade will return on Saturday, June 14, with an expanded route in celebration of Quincy’s 400th anniversary. This year’s enhanced festivities begin at 6:00 p.m. at Hancock Street and Hannon Parkway and continue along Hancock Street, Merrymount Parkway, and finish at Vietnam Veterans Drive near Adams Field.
More than 1,000 young participants, specialty units, public safety and veterans’ color guards, and classic cars will join elite national bands and returning Grand Marshals for a celebration honoring Quincy’s history. Parade highlights include performances by the Boston Crusaders, U.S. Marine Corps Quantico Band, U.S. Navy Band Northeast, and several renowned alumni corps from across the region.
Following the parade, Pageant Field will host a flag-raising ceremony featuring a massive 50’ x 80’ flag and musical performance. Recognition of the Grand Marshal and the Richard and Simone Koch Award recipient will precede the finale: a fireworks show over Black’s Creek at approximately 9:00 p.m., sponsored by Quirk Auto.
Additional details can be found at quincyma.gov, quincy400.com, and on the City of Quincy and Quincy400 social media pages.
